"Chain sound" and "bell sound" arent exactly written visuals. If u want help ure gonna have to give a little more detail.

Jimmiboi, once the engine has warmed up.. does the sound still occur? Or only on cold starts?

Chain sound (or rattly diesel sound) when first started is the chain tensioner dying. Get a replacement.

i think i get the chain sound... im not sure ... it makes a funny sound from the engine when its really cold in the morning....kinda like a sharp sound .... just like jimmiboi dont know how to describe it....one of those things where "you have to be there" u cant really replicate it unless someone is standing with ya at 6am in the morning...

The chain tensioner one happens when your engine is still hot and you restart the engine.

^^ seems like all you do is refer people to another forum!!
everytime someone asks for help, you post them links to s2ki.com..

Because there are not many s2k threads here and all the action happens on s2ki.com ;) Most s2k owners here spend more time on s2ki than on ozhonda.

it could be cold start issue

try the 3 second rule:

turn the key to "reds" and wait 3 seconds to allot the fuel to travel and the engine to be ready for ignition the press the "engine start" button

thats just a little hope

if not your tensioner for your timing chain might be the issue as it is not too common it still is a little thing you have to change.

no drama but be sure to get it checked out by a proper mechanic so you can be sure

And can u tell me a time where ive steered someone wrong???? And its not every time, have a search, ive "typed" out answers many a time,im just a little sick of it. Why should i sit there typing out an answer thats been covered a hundred times when i can simply referer somone to a credible source. God forbid they might do some research themselves, even learn something, even if its just finding where the search button is.

I wasnt aware that links offended you so much, perhaps next post,i'll do all the work, sift through every thread and cut and paste the apprporiate answer, just so u dont have to view those horrible blue underlined links :(

Did u even click the links,if u did... guess what... it contains answers. I dont really think the person looking for them really gives a shit where/how they come from. They wouldnt have started a thread to begin with if they already had the info ive given.

settle down you sook.. was just wondering why are you always refering people to s2ki.com.. as i wasn't aware that the website existed, and was a good website to source info about s2k's.

relax champ!

Hey jimmiboi, not that the grrrrrrrrrr ka ching,ka ching broom broom ding! type descriptions arent helpful in identifying the type of noise ure experiencing...... but does the noise happen to sound remotley, descriptively or otherwise similar to this?????

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24CiL5_9YvQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7YWObOi5zQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2zymOeBj7U

Coz if it does ure tensioner is on its way out, even if it the noise does cease after the engine has warmed up.

There u go the hard parts done, so no one has the tribulation or trial of opening up any forum links.

Then next time....ask,or perhaps have somthing to support your claim, when u decided to tell me and everyone else that "all i do is....." when u pretty much havent the foggiest. :)

No prob jimmi. This is the thread i found the vid in

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=466860&hl=belt%20tensioner&st=0 (http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=466860&hl=belt%20tensioner&st=0)

Billman chimes in mentioning it sounds like a scored cylinder bore. I hate to say it but bilmans never wrong. Might be an idea to PM the thread starter and see what they did to fix the issue. If not, time to take it to ure mechanic.

The sound of the tensioner and the sound of the scorred cylinder bore are totally different.

The tensioner makes your engine sounds like a diesel. The scoured sounds like a sick tapping sound, like the sound of a spun bearing.
