Saw a nice looking '93 Civic Si in a car yard today.

According to Redbook, this model should have a driver side airbag, but this one didn't.

According to the RACV site, it should have ABS, it didn't.

The sales guy (hopeless) insisted it was an Si.

Anyone know how many different model Civic Si's Australia got around that time?

ta. :P

The VIN should tell it apart. My Si was a dec 92 and it didn't have ABS nor airbag.

My Si hatch is a 93 model - and dosent have airbag OR abs.

basically teh engine will tell u - if is a DOHC , d16a8 engine, then its a Si .

Check on the engine, below the distributor and u will see the engine code.

I THINK the Si ( both Harch and Sedan ) were replaced by the VTi in late 1993. there is no 94+ Si as far as I know.

Si will have DOHC and also REAR Disc Brakes.

dont worry about airbgs and ABS - is just extra weight..and cost

you DO however want the rear discs !!

Si doesn't have airbags, sunroof or ABS as standard. Some of those website are incorrect.

As said, check for D18A8 DOHC engine (hopefully it has one!), rear disks and cup holders in front of the shifter.

just look at the chasis code near the radiator, it should say EG5 if its an Si, if it says EG5 and you have a sunroof, ABS, rear disks, and air bag then its a VTi. Si 92-summer 93, VTi 93--->
