I want to replace my spits/tweeters and 6x9s. I am going to buy a jaycar response 4way amp for my components, and for the sake of sticking to the same brand, i'm looking at buying jaycar audio speakers.
I have been reading up that the focal slimline tweeters fit in without cutting, but I was curious as to know if I could use any jaycar audio equipment.
Also, for my 4-channel amp, is 50WRMS each channel enough or should I be getting something more like 150WRMS? I currently have a 800WRMS jaycar amp powering my 2 alpine type R 12" subs.
Some ideas:

I've also got an Alpine 4 ch amp 250WRMS each driving Boston splits in the ft.and Alpine DD drives at the rear,1x10"Kenwood sub driven by Kenwood 150WRMS bridged amp and my setup sounds great.idealy i could have a higher powered 4 ch amp but i'm happy with what i've got.I'm still using the factory headunit with LOCs.Jaycar(response)gear is good value for money and gets a good rap from what i hear but i've never used any of it myself.I've also Dynamatted the ft.doors.

Anyone know if you can run an amp for the pair of 6x9 in the rear and also a sub using just 1 amp?
I was hoping to get this setup but am unsure on whether there will be any problems. Please advise me if you know if its not good or any changes needed.
Alpine:
HEAD UNIT : CDA-9884E
F SPEAK: DLC-177R
R SPEAK: SPS-609
AMP: MRP-F600
SUB: SBR-S122V
Thanks in advance, for my audio noobness.

Wouldn't you just use a 4 channel amp, 1 channel each for the 6x9's, and bridge the remaining 2 channels to run the sub???

Agree, this config would work, however you normally amp your front speakers first and use the rear for fill off the headunit. You only run rears off an amp if you have an extra few channels of after a louder, better quality system.
i.e. I had 2*4 chan amps previously. Each channel used for 4 speakers of 1 amp and the other 4 chan bridged to 2 chan to run 2 10" subs.

Man the holes in the front doors of the euro are the worst shape! such a pain!

If you weren't going to run the rears of an amp, i would suggest not upgrading them at all and using the factory 6x9's running off the head unit.
As BiLL|z0r said its just there for rear fill, you hear the front speakers more, so its more important to power the fronts properly.
I'm not sure what's out now, but from what i remember the only speakers that fit into the standard euro front doors without any modifcation, are the Focal 165v slim.
They are 60w RMS.
I think they retail for about $350 - 400.
I'll be sourcing a pair of these for my fronts.

The stock speaker mounting needs to be cut out and a mounting ring attached so a non-slim speaker can fit (NB, the standard speaker grill should still fit on top, so it'll look factory).
Without this modification, the window will hit the magnet when it is wound down.
I cant remember the mounting depth of the stock speakers, but i think you only have about 60 - 65 mm using the stock position, which is too small for most speakers.

hey guys,
another question, with the stock headunit what connectors are used to be plugged into it from the speakers?
Are they RCA connectors?
Thanks all.

I would probably use the ghetto method... cut and rewire, then use a heat shrink shealth to seal it.

yups prob will do that, thats what i did with my ghetto EDFC install to the accessory + illumination wires.
Also is there a way to easily access the harness of the stock unit? taking the top trim off or the console CD pocket?

Yeah, it's actually about ~50mm from the window and ~80mm from the bar.
Crapdaz, check out these two threads for what I did.
