Heya,

Took my 02 base model integra in for a service and there is a huge problem with the braking system. The brakes would seize up even when you don't touch the brake pedal:(

Honda reckons some fluid other than DOT4 went into the system but thats all we have at home and I haven't even used it on my car as the car is always serviced at dearlerships - so they won't repair under warranty:mad::mad::mad:

They said the seals have swollen so they are going to overhaul the master cylinder tomorrow and if the foreign fluid has gotten deeper into the system then I am looking at over $3000 worth of repairs.

Just wondering:
-I don't know much about cars but is there a way I can dispute for a repair under warranty (extended)
-Can the new brake system be installed DIY
-How much is a 2nd hand ABS system (i was quoted ~$2500 for a new one:eek:) and are they common enough to get a wreckers.

I'm a student so money is a big issue and I just sent all my savings to my grandma back in my home country (she's poorer than me).

After tax return I'll have 800ish altogether so any help or advice with this budget in mind would be much appreciated:thumbsup:

thanks in advance

Yeah will do tommorow after I pick up the car. I told them that if the whatever fluid has gotten deeper into the system then just do the normal servicing and leave it as is.

^^ yeah, if you can show that all your servicing was done at the dealer and you didn't change brake fluid on your own, you can get them to cover at least 1/2 of it.
