From what I have read, all that is required is a hydro clutch (just get the ITR one?) and hydro pressure plate (presumably from the ITR too) and then mounts and brackets to hook it up and a cable to hydro conversion kit. These kits seem like they would work for any b series, but the only difference is the mounts.

I am suspicious that "(DAHY) Cable to Hydraulic Conversion for 90-93 Integra (http://hasport.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=52&products_id=128)" might work, but I'm just guessing!

Maybe this innovative mounts cable to hydraulic actuator (http://www.innovativemounts.com/ShowProduct.aspx?prodid=41001)could help the conversion? Or this? (http://www.innovativemounts.com/ShowProduct.aspx?prodid=41000) I'm not really sure what exactly the hasport kit even comes with!

I am serious about getting this done! Is there anyone who has done this before or know someone else who has OR is confident in their own ability to do the conversion and would be prepared to take responsibility for the job (in Melbourne)? Every time I have made a thread like this (on any forum) all the replies are vague and inconclusive. Please help

Are u talking about using the Y1 case with S80 internals(can this be done?) or just a complete S80 g/box?

I think ive told u this before? but i think the hardest thing u will find with using a complete S80(case & internals) is trying to find a substitute for the g/box engine mount.
U cant use the ED aftermarket mounts in your EF as the mounting points are different on the chassis.Nor can u use the Y1 mount on the hydro tranny.
So u will have to get a custom mount fabricated.

As far as clutch conversion goes with a S80 case either of the 2 mechanical conversion kits u linked will be ok,im using the hasport one & have been for 12 months now,& it works fine.
If u use the Y1 case i think u will find there is nowhere to mount the slave cylinder for the clutch if u choose the hydraulic converter kit & the 2 mechanical converters u show will not bolt up to that case either.

At the end of the day, work out the engine mount prob first for the S80 case.

can you use the s80 mount though?

can you use the s80 mount though?

Seeing as though its made for an ITR chassis,i pretty much doubt it.

Heres the Hasport kit btw

you will have to use the custome avid or HASPORT mounts

I have emailed Avid Racing and Hasport to ask if they have anything for my specific application... I guess I will wait and see, or I might have to resort to local fabrication.

I guess in the meantime, can anyone recommend a workshop in melbourne they think would be comfortable enough to pioneer this mod?

Dylan, its all do-able, but as i said to you in person, there are cheaper ways to get better performance from your car. Just trying to save you money here :)

I appreciate your help, Andy. But it's pretty hard to beat the ITR box for all the things I am looking for: higher final drive, closer gear ratios, stronger box with better gears and synchros for faster shifting, hydraulic response, and LSD.

Perhaps all those things that I want won't be the most cost effective way to shave off the most time on a lap on a track or circuit, but at the end of the day my goals are more to enjoy my car, not to get my name on the fastest lap hall of fame.

The reason I came to the conclusion of the ITR box is because it will resolve the issue of my dead/dying gearbox (which I will NEED to resolve either way), while adding acceleration, reliability, and extra handling capacity (LSD).

Anyway if you compare 5th on both boxes after calculating the final drive, you should find that the top speed is only very minimally affected. The rest of the redline speeds for each gear look like improvements to me...

you will have to use the custome avid or HASPORT mounts

so the custom branded mounts for the the DA to use an S80 will work with ef8?
then all that is needed is the clutch set and hydrau converter?

andy, what would you recommend as a better alternative.. i presume u are saying using the y1?
can u give a break down of parts and rough pricing?

Andy: I'd definitely happily explore the idea of rebuilding the Y1 if like DXS has asked, more information was forthcoming.

When we spoke in person you were suggesting a lower final drive, which given my intention to stick with the b16a doesn't really make sense to me - that was the only reason I looked away from your offer to rebuild the Y1. I think maybe I'm just confused. There are a lot of people who would really appreciate a clear explanation. :)

Dan, feel free to shoot us a pm or email about what i suggested to dylan, but in short yes, keep your cable b16a boxes.

Dylan, you must have heard me wrong, lol ill explain more in person :)
