i am going to install a second amp to power my front speakers. i understand everything except, would there be a second hole so that i can put the remote wire into at the back of the headunit? or would i need a splitter? im lost on this part.

Yeah just piggyback of the existing Remote Wire.
But dont piggyback the power cable, make sure you use a separate fused Power cable running straight from the battery so your car wont go up in fire

for a more professional install you can get a splitter, thats how mine was setup, it was a stinger one, where on one side the power cable went and on the other side there was two outlets for power cable to go to the amps, both with their own fuses in the splitter box, so if one blows the other keeps working.
something sorta like this

not a massive amount of power is required for it.

just cut another wire and connect it to the already existing amps remote wire connection, then connect the other side to the new amps remote wire connection easy as that

what about the signal cable? there is already one to the monoblock, does that just need splitting?
