your car will be unregistered and you wont be able to drive it, if you get caught driving it unregistered you will get a nice fine, somewhere along the lines of $500, well thats victoria anyway

yeah, you dont get any penalty for not paying, which means you have no rego and you just cant drive the car,

No penalty for paying your rego after the rego expiry date.

But if you get pulled over for it you will cop a nice big fine.

Also if you leave it for longer than 3 months after expiry date you will need a blue slip to get it rego'd again.

Besides you are supposed to renew your rego way before it expires.

Why do ppl leave things to the last minute or after its too late.

Idiot, even if you pay earlier, the expiry date wont be earlier.

If your expiry date is 6th of jul 2007 for example.

But you paid it in July 1st 2007 , it will still expire in 6th July 2008. (or 5th if its a leap year)

or even if you pay weeks earlier it will not change the original expiry date.

Exactly what Chi said, cause that's exactly what I did... It's blatantly obvious that it doesn't make sense if you pay early that rego ends early?!

That's why there is a rego expiry date.

u guys obviously dont understand the importance of maintaining fluid cashflow.

in the world of business and certain financial strategies, one should hold off payment of invoices as late as possible. it is always best to keep as much liquid cashflow on you as possible.

so in fact, all three of you are dumb. ;)
