Well we all know about the stupid f'ked up P laws intro'ed onto Sydney P Plate drivers at the beginning of this month and also seeing my 3rd Gen Lude has absolutely no place to put these damn clunky P Plates I went hunting...
- P Plate Holding Brackets - Nope can't fit em' onto my 3rd gen Lude...
- Sticky Tape... Too Ugly...
- Lodging them between the numberplate and the car - Warped my damn # Plate :thumbdwn:
Anyway So I figured I'd wire them onto my car...
First step is to get some wire. I went to bunnings for this. 1.85mm Thick.

Next is to make 2 holes on either edge of the Plate.

The 3rd step is a little bit different for everyone. You should be able to find somewhere you can twist and latch the wire onto on your car. This is how I did mine. (For the Rear I hooked it up to a toe bar that was already on the car when i bought it)

hmmm...in this day n age of cops dicking for no reason, you've just given them a reason by having ur p plates obscured by wire.....
however, good stuff, thank god i'm off my ps :)

cop must be in a pretty shitty mood to dick you for 1.85mm wire obscuring ur p plate .. lol but anything can happen
but you could always just thread the wire down the sides
i.e. in the last picture run the wire thru the two holes so no obscuring
more effort tho :P

is this the new rule that the P plate has to be outside the car?
coz i hardly see anyone have them in their windows anymore like i use to
i keep mine in my boot...
havent seen em in over a year...

Im not from sydney so they are the P plats you have to use and stick on your car.. you cant use the ones that stick on your windscreen anymore?
that is so ghey...

You won't get defected for obscuring. LOL
Easy enough idea though :]

not a bad idea...
but what i did was use a few rubber bands tied them up together since they weren't long enough and hooked them to my number plate...
stupidest law ever~ *thumbs down*

y the hell does it say '90' on your plates?
it's always been 90KM
Cause the speed limit for P1 drivers in NSW is 90km/h. :p
Fyi Learners are 80 and P2 drivers are 100.

lol...
create a whole in the p plate and zip tie it to your licence plate holder.. thats if you have a frame for your licence plate ? also there are holes on your licence plate you can zip tie it too.. the thing is at times the p plate flies everywhere and may end up not even showing the p plate and you know what that means when you get pulled over by a cop with a bad mood. :) and if you don't its a $180 fine and 2 points

'Style' doesn't quite cover it petronas =P
Haha
Reynaldo7

Another idea so it isnt covering the "P" is where you have punched the holes through for the wire have a second hole right next to it so the wire goes in and around behind the "P".
Would look more like it's just sitting on the car then.
Hope you get what I mean.

Much easier with cable ties.
It's so easy that you don't even need a guide/DIY article to help you put them on.

I used the preforated holes already on the P-Plates. Mine are screwed on. Going nowhere.

i got a small nut and bolt, small enough to fit thru the lil holes on the p plate then screw it thru a corner hole on the number plate, gets the job done
