Hey guys. Seeing as I don't have the funds to get myself a set of coil overs for my DC2 integra, i thought why not opt for the alternative; adjustable springs? (along with a set of good shocks of course). I haven't really seen anyone with this setup but i'm keen to know how the ride is and if it's safe to go along with it. Yes yes i know...i could just save up for coils but i'm not gona be doing any track work so yea. More for looks. What do you guys think?

You refer to coilover-sleeves ? From EBAY etc ?

I would stay away from them. Cheap , and hardly safe/properly engineered. They will "dump" your car but in the long term are a waste f time.

IMO just get some lowered springs from KMAC , Kings springs or similar

Frankly, adjustable coil overs are not the be all and end all.
Even if you get shocks and springs, if you match them right, you can get the same level of handling and the ride is probably even less harsh than most kit form adjustable coilovers.

how much you think coilovers are going to cost you?

you can get a lot of "decent" ones for less than 1,500. and im not talking d2's,

let us know how it goes! and yes i know i can get some decent coil overs under $1500 but i just don't have the money to blow it all on just coils. there's other things i have to pay for too.

^^^Those Ground Control sleeves he has are the only other 'proper' sets i've seen in the market... the other is Omni.

Those cheap no brand eBay ones... theres been a couple of threads on them.. i myself had a set on a non-honda.

I spoke to someone who also ordered them from another car club and he asked the seller what they meant by "High Spring rate"... turns out it was 16,000Kg.

If your not circuit racing the $120 ebay set seems alot more inviting than a $1500 coil over set. I run the ebay set and they seem ok.

^^^they are OK-ish... i understand other peoples concerns regarding build quality and being too stiff and it'll snap this and that... i have never for once seen a post on the net saying so.

the only part about them i saw as unsafe was the resulting reduction in braking ability.

Because they are so stiff, they don't compress anywhere near as much as 'normal' springs therefore not absorbing enough inertia... this leads to tyres (even semi's) loosing traction sooner....

I agree, mine have 350p and 450p for the two sets. Would that be a spring rate of 350pounds and 450 pounds?
