DC5R HU Install Help!

Hi all,

I recently purchased a double-din JVC DVD unit for my DC5R which I tried to install myself (first time). When I finished wiring up everything (front and back speakers. accessory terminal wire and live terminal wire) i noticed there were still 4 wires left over!

The unit works just fine but I'm worried about these 4 extra wires (Im guessing one of them is a illumination wire) which are left over when I cut all the wires from the factory wiring harness. Does anyone know what they are?!? or does anywhere have a DC5R wiring diagram?!?

If everything works, just make sure you insulate left over wires and you should be right

cant be ground cos the HU is working.
its proboly one of either the accessory power or the 12+v power.
and the other 2 might be remote and as sum1 already mentioned power antaner
and yes colour of the cables would be helpful

my guess are:

security wire, dash light brightness controller, amp remote wire and another constant +12V wire...

Hey guyz, here are the remaining wires (I have found out what 2 of em where):

- Red/Black with silver strip (I found out this was the illu. wire)
- Red with silver strip ????
- Red/White with silver strip ????
- Black with silver strip (I found out this was the ground wire which I hooked
up to the brake wire so my videos would play!!)

RED/BLK : illumination wire
RED : dash brightness controller (no use for aftermarket HU)
RED/WHT : security input (no use for aftermarket HU)
BLK : ground

does ur hu play videos wen ur hand brake is down? if it doesn't ground da wire to a metal..

My HU plays regardless, I hooked up the brake wire to the factory ground wire so it plays all the time.

Just gotta be careful of police...

did u connect the headunit to the battery, or only used the stock harness?
