I'm just wondering, How fast can a B16A goes on quartermile? Street tyres/Drag radial...?
Pure NA and fully Mod internal with no Quads.... + Chipped ECU...

Any idea guys??
And also, to break the Australia record of B16A Street car record (if there is one record to start with), how fast must it be? No turbo's...N/A...

the fastest street legal civic on street legal tires did the quarter mile in 11.418 seconds, with a turbo i think. its an EK Civic VTiR with a B16A motor and was clocked in at Western Sydney International Drag strip, by Ben Creswick (according to High Performance Imports). he managed to take the fastest street legal time from DMW Dave in his Swift GTi. but DMW Dave recently took back his record with a recorded quarter mile of around 11.24-ish.
not sure how fast the all-motor civics can go, but in HPI, the fastest listed atmo quarter mile civic time was 12.361 with street legal tires. but this was a 1985 chassis with a k20a. so anyone know the fastest b16a time on street radials?

and the B16a motor... cant exactly go down a quarter mile unless its attached to a car, lol.
so which car are you thinking of, i've seen these things in ED, EF, EG, EK, concerto, CRX, etc. each will take it down at different times as they all weigh in rather differently, and in some cases, they have different tunes of the B16A from the factory/conversion. but considering a factory Swift GTi can run a quarter mile in high 14s on good tires, i'd say a B16A should be similarly capable of such a feat, if not better. but buying a B16A based on someone else's quarter mile times doesnt mean you'll achieve that quarter mile time, driver plays a slightly important role in quarter mile.

uhh....
an EG...
someone told me they did 12's...B16a, no nos, no Quad tb, street tyres, just some internal...seems quite impossible, but just to make sure, or is it just some "day dreaming" thing....

But B16b on EK9 did 12.47 as well..no quads, street tyre, no NOS...hmmm...

I think me and my brothers red AH Civic holds the record for fastest street N/A b16a down the quarter before we went to the K20A. The best we got was a 13.42 and a best 103mph. Internally the engine was stock, just I/H/E and microtech. If there is anything quicker with a N/A B16a with street tyres I'd like to know.

cory from workshop X ( NZ ) back in 2000 did 13.1 with his JDM DA6 b16a Integra.
very quick b16

lmao at you're allowed internal mods, but you're not allowed to bolt on quads.

So you don't really care do you, basically you're asking if some guy is talking shit with his 12.1 sec NA pass with a B16A correct?

I'll be the first to say his full of shit, especially on street tyres.

A B16 would need mega money to hit almost flat 12's in N/A form - depends on what chassis it's in though. But yeah very, very hard.

of course i wanna know is it possible or not to run a 12 sec, a mid to low..

but even some honda has quads doesn't mean they run a good time...i think is just a COOL FACT to tell someone u have quads...but if you don't know how to use them in the most efficient way to gain that crazy power, why even think of quads in the 1st place???

i know 2 very similar car...one with lesser mods, and one has more mods incl quads...
but both run 10's...and the one without quad still wins...hmmm...

both cars with/without quads run 10's ?

Mind you , old mini's with the B16a conversion have been hitting low 13's in the UK / states apparently. (stock) does this count ?

moved to noob section

as far as i know, quad throttle bodies improve throttle response dramatically by ensuring that each throttle body/cylinder receives the same amount of air/fuel mixture. altho it is true that response does not necessarily improve times in all cases, it is effective, and most people who tune N/A cars dont really do it for quarter miles. from what i've seen, most do it for some controllable mountain fun.

of course, if you want a 12 second civic on street tires, you could always order a spoon k20a racing motor and detune it for street use. last time i checked, the minimum price on one of these beauties was US$12000? and from what i've heard, you're pretty much paying US$1 per rev, as the motor supposedly revs up to 12500rpm. but then purchasing such a motor defeats the purpose of custom modifying your own motor to your liking.

I remember that car! Was one of the quicker allmotor cars in NZ back then. I had pictures of it. I found it in allmotor group forum if I remember correctly?
