Hi,

I'm about to get a dc5R in the coming months, upgrading from a 180. Looking forward to joining this community =D

What I would like to ask is (correct me if I'm wrong) that I have noticed that the price for dc5R's are about the same regardless if its stock, or lightly modded.

I would just like to get some views on whether I should get;

Stock as a rock, and add exhaust, intake, heavy duty clutch, coilovers as I go along.

Lightly modded with some or all of the above.

Unlike my 180, I don't plan on doing any of the mods myself anymore as I don't have anytime + its a more valuable car, so I would be going to a workshop for most things.

So... please share your views.

dc5r is a good choice. Wouldnt hurt to buy a lightly modded one either (ie coilovers, i/h/e) as these would usually be the mods you would wanna do.

In regards to doing mods yourself, i dont see why not if you have the technical 'know how'. Would be more rewarding knowing you played a direct part in the modifying process rather than just spending money on it.

i would say,

look at wear and tear of the recaros...
Normaly you will find blue red or silver cheaper than black and white..

i would say if ur gna mod it, buy one as stock as you can so you can do that upgrades yourself. ;D

good luck!

coilovers are a must! ride quality is important.

Would something say Tein SS improve the ride quality? I thought swapping out the stock for aftermarket suspensions would make the ride stiffer more "track" than day to day driving. I'm thinking of upgrading my suspension but i don't want the car to become stiffer than what it is now. I also don't want to lower the car anymore than what it currently is. It's stock at the moment.
