i currently have a crx 1990 with b16a under the bonnet my car is #@$% because the shell is a cut and shut and was hopping to swop it into a newer shell how much will this cost me in labour and parts and what has to be done.

whats exactly wrong with it???
well if u wanna put it into another car u'll have to account for how much this new car/shell is gonna cost then ur gonna have to go to a workshop and ask them how much they are gonna charge to do the swap for u
each workshop is different...

It would be a good project for you to do your self as labour would cost heaps if you want every thing swaped over.
If you have the crx manuel it wont be to hard.

I just stripped my ed civic down to the bare metal shell and put it all back together and im not a mechanic, it was a good learing process.

Watch out as you can not put an old engine into a newer model car...
eg: a b16a engine from an ef8 1990 crx model can not be fitted into a 1992 crx shell.

Where you located?

If it's a JDM B16A2, it will still only say B16A on the engine#, but it does look that way!!

In that case, looks like a JDM B16A2 with hydro clutch, get me some pics of the clutch master cylinder on the firewall under the fuel filter,if its not too much to ask

If that's the case man, then it's most likely the 125kw version, they're a tuff motor!

Also means it is out of a later model than an 90crx, meaning if find the build year, you may open up ur options of which cars you can swap it into!

im in jabiru nt

your location makes it difficult for installation

there is a few ppl who i've known who has actually gone to the trouble to have the conversion done in places where they feel @ ease knowning that the workmanship is done right.

ACT owner taken his gen2 crx to Syd,NSW
QLD owner taken his gen2 crx to Syd,NSW

not to say that your conversion cant be done where you live.
But you need to find someone who has a really good sense of mechnical knowledge but not just anyone someone who has worked with honda's.
Past experience have gone pretty bad :( with mechanics who've exp onli with the turbo RWD and 4WD variety.:thumbdwn:

You never know u might be able to do the conversion urself just ask ECU-MAN as mentioned in the posts earlier. Im quiet sure he'll help out a fellow crx owner.
