how u guys think Brian Crower 304 degree spec 3 cams compare to toda A2, IPS, budyclub cams??giv me some advise pls, before i was told to purchase Toda A2 cam but now i got a good deal for the crower cams (1.1k+ for cams, valve spring and retainer)...
second Q, i can't really understand wat's dual valve springs??it doesn't say it's stainless steel...is that poor staff??

I had some buddyclub cams on my current dc2r but I recon they were worst than stock, down low they were so laggy, I had Adrian swap them for toda cams and I haven't looked back, go with the name people trust, go toda. My brother owns a dc5r and just installed toda headers and had his car tuned with hondata and it goes like a rocket now, next on his list is toda cams. So yeah I suggest toda you buy toda cams, yes there expensive but there worth every sent, why have anything other than the best, just make sure you tune your car after you install your cams.
who tuned your car with the BC Cams ? and then who recommended you the toda cams ?

Not sure but I think A2 and A3 toda cams need ecu upgrade to work

so what cams would suit a dc5r?
with these mods: toda headers 4-2-1
hi flow cat, fujitsubo power getter
CAI
& hondata K-pro

A2 is design mostly for street use, A3 designed for track, and Spec C designed for drag. (the seller telling me about tat, not sure how's it reliablility :P)

I second these questions.
For BC cams not making power on a B series, I'd say that highly unlikely if not due to environmental factors (eg. condition of the car, driver, etc.). In any case, its irrelevant to this thread.
BC spec 3 cams seem to be quite quite good on K20A/2s. Heres a link to a dyno graph from one of the US guys.
http://www.clubitr.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=882
Take it with a grain of salt as US dynos read much differently from the Australian ones, however overall power graph is smooth and looks quite promising. When compared to Toda cams, they seem to hold their own very well, in some cases producing more peak power.
Do your research into what kind of power delivery you want - is it for streetability or for outright power? There are plenty of options around. Don't rule out Buddy Club just because of TegCrazy's waffle (if you've already done so) but have a read around at what results people are actually getting.
How much are you looking at spending when importing? Maybe try hitting up JDMYard and seeing if they can do you a better deal if you opt for the Buddy Clubs as their an official distributor.
an equivalent to Toda A2 are the BuddyClub Spec 2 cams for the K20...
i too have been looking at getting cams, and both the A2 and Spec 2 from BC i think don't need aftermarket ecu to work...(someone confirm please)
oh, and btw, Toda Spec C are awsome stuff...a dc5r with spec c vs me....i was like as if i was driving an automatic 4cyl family car...lol

i think you need an aftermarket ecu for tuning, otherwise u can't gain too much on changing cams.
what's the price compare btw BC and toda??i though toda just a bit more than bc right...so i would prefer using TOda

I was told that u need an after market ECU to change the lift and angle of something I think the cam or it will hit something and brake,.. LOL thats what i understood

any tunable aftermarket ECU will provide changing lift and cams angle software...

I was running Toda Spec C, Car made 153kw atw with Cai, Jdm Intake Manifold, Spoon TB, Toda Headers and Custom 2.5 cat back, and K-Pro of course.
The drivability was still extremely good and i still averaged 400km a tank and that was with vtec'ing couple of times per drive and 2-3mins of warming up the car each drive.
1st and 2nd gear the car wasn't any faster than a well tuned dc5r with same mods minus cams, but once i it thrid gear it was like the other car was standing still. These cams mke massive top end power and are extremely good for track. vtec was from 5000-9000rpm.
You will ned to install aftermarket valve springs and retainers tho and have it tuned by someone reliable, i'd reccommend Adrian from Toda any day of the week.
If your interested n going this way my cams are now for sale only done 10 000kms and can have both sticks for $850 + shipping...

did u use titanium retainer?cause adrian (TODA AU) told me that if wanna rev to 9000rpm then should require that retainer.

Do the JDM ITRs have the retainers because they rev to 9k

My car made good power in all gears, but there was no traction is 1st and not much in 2nd if you planted your foot. 3rd, 4th and 5th the car just piled on speed, 150kph in 3rd, 190kph in 4th and 230-240kph in 5th.
It would be extremely advisable to upgrade valve springs and retainers if you plan on revving the car to 9000rpm, altho the stock JDM dc5's rev to 9000rpm stock the cams aren't as aggressive as aftermarket items. Better to spend a bit extra than blow up your motor.

what about 6th gear 250-270??
I don't know, the straight at Qld Raceway isn't long enough to use 6th gear, but i would assume somewhere around 270kph in 6th

so annoying, there are so many different brands of cams for k20a....does any1 trial buddyclub, IPS cams?
Yes I have experienced IPS cams in a DC5 ( they are excellent!!). I have a pair that I want to sell now ( Sold the integra so no need for them).
The midrange torque gain they gave was very impressive ( for a camshaft)
I also considered Brian Crower like you but tuning was the issue that held me back from this course of action. I had hondata kpro on my car which comes with very good base maps for the k2's already.
