I've done a search regarding an upgrade to Euro high beams and most of the results are about kelvin ratings and how "blue" the light is.
I don't care about that, I just want to see the 'roos before I hit 'em when I'm doing 120 down a country road on a dark night.
I've got an 06 Lux 6MT.
Any suggestions about increasing the high beam range?

I reckon if you use yellow bulb (as in the pic) on your high beam the range will be further, coz that what I'm using it on my NSX now and HID 4500K on my Low Beam,

its 65Watts with the output of 140watts

I dont have my euro jst yet but i have heard the high beems seem some what dull compared to the low beem,

I dont know the exact specs on the high beems but have you thought about a HID conversion for the high beems??? this could solve your problem.

It wont be a projected HID like the low beems unless u want to do a retro fit so some light will be scattered about but it wont distract other drivers as its on ya high beems :)

i wanna do a HID fog light conversion :)

its not really recommended for the ballast to turn on and off too quick, thats why they never use it for high beam

Blueish light is more prone to scatter due to its shorter wavelength, all you will see haze in front of you. Since the light will be attenuated over a shorter distance, it won't provide the range you are after.
For this reason, 6000K bulb is a bad ideal ((ie, the higher the colour temperature, the more 'blue). Stick to your halogen.
Why don't you just get a couple of 'pencil beam' driving lights?

I change my high beam to Phillips Diamon Vision 4300K, it's white with a bit of blue to match my 8000K HID.

^^5000K is considered the colour of light emitted from the sun at noon. that is to say, it is white light. anything less is red-yellow, anything more is blue. 4300K is white, with yellow tinge.

easy - put +50 Osram globes in the high beam (do not get blue globes) and update fogs to h9. I put a conversion process in the DIY section. Doesn't cost anything.

Another vote for the Osram (now sold under Narva) +50% bulbs. They are the same 3200K as stock high beams, so they go further.

I think they are $16 each now. So about $32 a pair. They are sold as Narva's now. If you look at the bulb in the package, they are marked "Osrams"

I am using Phillips 4300K H1 for normal, it comes with the foc small bulbs. For high beam I left it stock, cause its bright enough... if it goes, I will get the normal Phillips bulb as it comes with +50% light... I think the light temp is 3800K.

Agreed, I have just installed the Philips H1 +50%, about $38 for the set which definately has longer range than the stock OEM high beam bulbs
