earlier Accords had the engine placed more towards the left side of the car (driver perspective), but recently, eg, the Euros and Accords have their engine placed more towards the right.

Seeing that the driver is on the right side of the car, wouldn't that mean that the car would be more heavily weighted towards the right side these days? Unless you drive in a left hand drive country.

Curious to find out why the change...

With the change from D, B, F, H series engines and so on to the new K series, them main physical change is the exhaust manifold is now at the rear and the intake at the front which is great.
Every manufacturer of tranversely mounted engines designs them with the head further to the left or right for whatever reason but remember that the space on the "emtier" side is where the gearbox sits (which carries some weight also) so I don't see any problems. Also the ancillaries like ABS, power steering, air box can all be placed to even-up the weight distribution.

yeh its because the K series rotates the "correct" way. The gearbox is a heavy mofo so the balance should be fine.
