hey boys and girls u reckon i can get more HP and soudn out of my exhaust if i knock out all the compound in the inside of my catylic converter??? i heard it does, and a [acronym:453fc104b5="Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control"]VTEC[/acronym:453fc104b5] sounds nuts with it knocked out. i am thinking of doing it, and since it's only the inside u knock out cops can't pick u up for it, just watch out for EPA. but make sure do it after getting a roadworthy, and it'd be alot beta that a hi flow cat i reckon.

Ahem* yes you can do it but it's illegal to detach your cat.
Cops will still pull you over if you are loud and have a stock looking exhaust.

I'd say get the hi-flow cat.

it would gain u approx .2 hp on a NA car....and an attractive (up to ) $10,000 fine from the [acronym:682ed216f9="Environmental Protection Agency"]EPA[/acronym:682ed216f9].
You can easily tell when a car is running without a cat...runs quite rich , backfires alot and stinks liek poo :)

Dont do it . Just get the hi-flow cat.

agreed. the hp gain is minimal. dont even bother getting a high flow cat unless your exhaust system free flowing and has equal length runners yada yada.

if youre still interested, heres one for sale high flow cat for 200 (http://www.ozhonda.com/viewtopic.php?t=8158)

Ditto all above posts.
Plus think of the lush green trees and furry little koalas. Don't be a dick. Uber pollution isn't worth .0001 [acronym:2daa55ed71="Horse Power"]HP[/acronym:2daa55ed71] :)
Buy the high flow cat in the Marketplace. Cheap and brand new!

just get a high flow cat, its illegal to remove the cat (which is practically what your doing by removing the element inside)

I always enjoy the risk of a $10,000 fine...

Do you honestly believe it is worth it?

No gains here unless you retune the [acronym:0fb9adf0d3="Engine Control Unit"]ECU[/acronym:0fb9adf0d3] to suit...
MAP sensor system doesn't notice...
So, like anything untill you address engine management, you're just nibbling at the power pie...

Honda cats are very good, you will not get a noticeable increase...in fact you might add extra turbulence in there and even lose a couple of hp :)

not to mention that the car buzzes at revs...

tell me about it, sounds sh*t, when i bought my car i got told it had a high flow, when i got home after a few months i got under it realised it has the centre knocked outa it

sounds soo damn ugly, didnt think anything could sound ugly but this does, sounds like flies in a tin can haha, cant wait to get a new one (damn defects)
