Moving to the Accord Euro section.

What was wrong with the paint? Describe it in detail or provide a picture.

Have you tried looking at different angles and walking around while looking at it? The Euro's paint is pearl and it has different tones at different angles. My bonnet looks half purple and half blue in the sun, but it changes as I move to a different angle of view.

If it is still in 2 shades even at different angles, your car could have been resprayed, and I would seriously pursue the dealer about this.

yeah i have looked at the paint in cloudy weather, sunny weather under fluro's and i have even washed it twice to see if there was something on it.

I am seeing the dealer tomorrow as well as a panel beater that i used to work with.

Did you use paint protection? It's weird to see the bad paint on brand new car. Very rarely happen.

i have never seen bad paint from a dealer as its all factory sprayed and out of the production line in the one colour

Could have been damaged in transit and resprayed to fix it....

But could also be the tones in the colour, Artic blue has 7 tones in the colour and hence hard to match and also, you see different hues at different angles..

i have the satin silver and from different angles the panels can look different.
I have the same problem. It's because of the way the metallic flakes stand up in the paint.

i had a similar issue with paint...my euro was from the showroom floor so may be slightly different from ur scenario...
but just realised when i was at the panelbeater to fit my grill that the boot and parts of the roof were actually resprayed. I couldnt tell myself but apparently the panel beater could.
May have been an incident whilst transport and they resprayed?
dunno but definitely chase it up!

definitely take it back to the dealer... im sure they will fix it up for u

when i purchased my euro LE few months ago i had a loooonngggggg ass scratch on the left side stretching from front to rear door. they said it must have been scratched while transporting... they were kindly taking it back only giving me a free wax on my first service. Now its only visible when u look at it reflecting off the sun, so it was alrite to me...

Are you talking the bootlid or the bumper being a different colour to the roof? If you look closely, you can see (more obvious in some colours) that the bumpers are a slightly different shade due to the different underlying material.

I would not sign for the car if the paint was mis-matched......

i had an argument with the dealer before delivery because in the sunlight the car looked like a dark blue and i ordered black then he later convinced me these a blue pearl in it

The Car is Satin Silver

i haven't had any paint pretection placed on the car at all.

I took it to the dealer today and they could see the colour difference however they suggested not to touch the paint as it would look worse if i get it re sprayed. I thought it was a little bit of a cop out.

So i took it to my panel beater he said yes it is there however he has resprayed the colour and he said it looked terrible. One half of the car was darker then the other side. He said it is the way it comes out of the sprayer and there is nothing that can be done.

im not sure what to do now.

If you noticed the bad point, you shouldn't have taken delivery of the car. You should have rejected it and ask for another (which means more waiting time, inconvenience, etc.)
I had the same issue when I bought a Ford Focus for my wife. I refused the car when I noticed that paint at the bottom of the driver door is damaged (it is like somebody has opened the door and the bottom of the door scraped rocks or nature strip or something). They offered to touch up and respray, but I refused. In the end, had to wait another 2 months for another car... That was Ford. I would expect Honda QA to be miles better.

when i picked the car up it was in a showroom with fluro light shinny floor tiles and white walls which made it very hard to see with all the glare.

I guess i may have to live with it.

Most panel beaters are just crap...there are only a select few who can fix your car properly..problem with colour matching that colour is that the sprayer won't use the appropriate water base that honda use for satin silver.
You will end up with a car that will look right on side profile, then as soon as you walk around it in the sun the painted area will take on a bronze tone and seem darker.

Plus.. metallic flakes can look different and bigger if the correct paint is not chosen or has not been applied by someone who knows what they are doing.

May I suggest that you compare your car to another Euro of the same colour (assuming that they have one in stock) at the same dealer or at worst at another dealer. That way you can see for yourself if it just a "feature" of the that colour or demonstrate to the dealer that your paint is faulty.

You may also need to have some sort of "independent expert" as the difference is somewhat subjective and if they say they can't see anything even if it is obvious (to you at least) then you need this person acting as a referee.

If you are truly unhappy (and who wants a new car with a faulty paint job that's only going to annoy you every day), suggest you are firm but fair and polite e.g. if you are going to have the expert there let them know ahead of time.

Hope it works out :)

nothing as yet.

I have taken it to the dealer and a spray painter and they have said not to get it resparyed because it is only parts of the car that is patchie and if i was to get those parts resparyed it will end up darker.

Im not sure what to do from here.

Get some free services and polish/wax sessions from the dealer if they cannot offer you a repaint/spary

This issue is very common with silver cars i find, especially new commodores there paint match is horrible!

my dads got a VE SS and wrote to holden about it, both holden and the dealer basically said its just how they are, they could try and fix it but there cant be a guarentee

Also with a previous car, BA falcon in red the issue was caused by them not applying enough paint to the bar and due to the bar being grey in colour underneath it was showing through, another coating of paint etc and it matched fine.
