Hey guys, drove my car today, when the car is idling , rev it , let;s say 3000rpm, then release it , the rev will drop to 1400rpm and stay there for 5 seconds then drop back to normal which is 1100rpm, it is also can be found when i in second gear or first gear, approaching to stop, put the clutch in when it is at 1000rpm , the rpm will increase to 1400rpm (same spot as before ) , even put in netrul , release the clutch , the rpm will still stays 1400rpm for a while then drop back. Has anyone experienced the same thing ? it hasn;t affected the performace or anything , just wondering why the car doing that ? vaccum leak electric issue? Car is integra with a vtec engine , mods cai, exhaust , exedy clutch+ flywheel , cheers

It looks very similar to the "RPM hanging" issue that the newer Hondas with an electronic throttle have. But since yours is cabled, it must be something else.... Vacuum leak? That was some dodgy piping.

you are right it didnt happen before. Its not normal - my car dosent do it :)
Try cleaning the throttle body Jeremy with some carb cleaner , abit of gunk might of got stuck in the throttle body somewhere making it stick sometimes after use.

Worth doing. Just wanna mention that you gotta be careful cleaning certain throttle bodies (newer cars i think) with certain products as some TB's have a coating on them which you can damage...

Was told this at trade school.

Yeah, newer throttle butterflies have a molybdenum lube coating on the edges and at the hinge.

I had this problem... it happened intermittently tho. It was scary as ****. I changed my clutch and flywheel the weekend after that, and it fixed the problem. It could have been related, or it might not have been. I don't understand the reason why it would be happening, but the replacement clutch and fly seemed to fix the prob.

my previous car had the same issue. holden (never again lol) some mechs cleaned my throttle body and it did help my rev's.. though my rev's dropped to the point where my car turned off LOL it didnt happen so often when the throttle was cleaned.. not to sure if my clutch.. but thats what people were telling me.. weren't hold my gears in.. fairly old car..
