Hey,

Teg's making me sea sick and shocks bottom out on even then the smallest bump.

Was going to get some KYB but their site lists the Excel-G as only for the 06/89-06/93 DA9 models. Would these actually fit a 01/89 Teg DA1 (the one with the pop up lights)? and about how much should i expect for these installed?

Are there better options?

I know the KYB GR2 will fit but cant find any details onthe KYB site.

Cheers

TB

if your in melb, ring rob at suspension centre on 9356 4591
i had same issue, however i went out and bought munroe flexi shocks for front and rear, and coz i had the car dumped on the front and rear, it bottomed out heaps, rob fitted some rubber stoppers inside the shockers which cushioned the botoming out and took most of them away
they only cost me $60 and can fit into any shocks, so he can even do them to factory shocks
tell him about tommis integra with torsion bars he will remember

I put some monroe numbers on my 1st gen due to the same problem. It didnt really do much. car still kept bottoming out. The problem is from the torsion bars. You might need to speak to suspension specailist about your options. I dont think theres too many mugen torsion bars on sale =p.

Hey there,

is your teg lowered on the front using the torsion bars?

Im not sure if Gen1 crx torsion bars are thesame (quiet possibly) - if thats the case there is plenty of places in the US that do torsion bars thicker than stock to reduce bottoming out.

Another thing like you said could be the shocks - if they are old they will bottom out.
New shocks won't last long IF your teg is lowered on torsion bars, they will reduce the reaction but won't prevent it - you could always get some Konis and make them stiff.

But the only real way to reduce bottoming out on a lowered gen1 teg/crx is thicker torsion bars.

try www.redpepperracing.com as a start.

thats true, the thicker torsion bars wioth some konis, will do the job, however koni doesnt make anything for the integra any more, thats what i was looking for, thats why i got munroes and had the torsion bars retentioned and re spined to prevent the bounce and bottoming out, like you said it reduced it, but still bottomed out, thats why i got the rubber plates put into the shockers.
