Hey Guys,

I've been in need of a new braking system for a while and I thought my monthly bonus check from work could pay for a set. I'm not after anything spectacular...a system for normal street driving and Spirited weekend driving. I barely drive my car hard at all, but my brakes are starting to age and I'm noticing warped disks and a bit of brake fade.

I thought, why not upgrade to something better instead of spending a similar amount on OEM gear.

Keep in mind that I realise that the only real way of gaining alot of brake performance is larger disks, and Aftermarket Calipers. Both far too expensive.

DBA Kit:
Front: DBA Slotted/CrossDrilled Rotors + Bendix Ultimate Pads
Rear: DBA Slotted + Bendix Performance Pads
Estimated Cost: $650 (Staff Price from Repco) ;)

Spoon Kit:
Front: Spoon CrossDrilled Rotors + Spoon Racing Pads
Rear: DBA Slotted + Bendix Performance Pads
Estimated Cost: $??? (Awaiting Reply from Leo)

T.I.A

I just got the following brakes. I should have them on the car next week.

Ultimax BlackDash USR Slotted Rotors

Ultra quiet sport slotted brake rotors

Manufactured using premium disc blanks mentioned above, the narrower multi slot design of the Ultimax sport rotor and the progressive angle at which the slots are machined creates a quiet running sport rotor that still has benefits of removing gas, dirt, water and debris and MAINTAINING parallel pad wear. EBC have always been honest enough to say that the biggest advantage of slotted rotors is the fact that they promote flat and parallel pad wear rather than allowing ridges to develop on pads and rotors which is typical of "drilled only" sport rotors. By preventing these ridges brakes stay more consistent throughout pad and rotor wear life (simple physics!).

Front Rotors $260
Rears Rotors $220
Project Mu B Spec Pads 0~500 Deg/C $210 Rears
Project Mu HC Plus Pads 0~800 Deg /C $320 Fronts

You wouldn't have to go for HC Plus pads for street use. I'll be doing some track work so decided for the extra $110 it's peace of mind.

Have you tried Race Brakes in Melbourne...there's the equivalent in Sydney as well as Vsport and it's much cheaper than your traditional auto places for the DBA rotors....

I got the 4000 slotted series...P.S their usually for sale on Ebay too brand new from race brakes sydney...not sure on shipping though...

I'm running the ferodo ds2500 pads which I'm on to my 2nd set at the front...got them all round, car pulls up very well.
