Looking to get a pair of 100W halogen whities for my FD2. Not sure if it melt as it is double the stock wattage (51W). Has anyone with an FD2 changed to a higher rating?

Any help is appreciated greatly

I am pretty sure the new Civic headlights are polycarb and not glass so don't do it.

The best option +50% output globe but make sure you keep the wattage the same.

normally, when the bulb says 100w it is the claimed 'output' power, not the actual power drawn from the circuit, however a small number of off-road intended bulb do use twice the power to produce extra output.. just make sure that the power drawn is more or less the same with the stock one.

100W, that would probably melt the wiring.

Stock bulbs are Low 51W/ High 60W. So if i go to 55W/65W it should be ok?

yeah, a 5W increase is more reasonable. What size are your bulbs? If they are H4, consider the new Phillips X-treme power (which you have to get through ebay)

FD2 sizes are HB4 Lows and HB3 Highs

Any recommendation. Looking to get white halogens

Edit: Whats the diff between HB3 vs H3 and HB4 vs H4. Will H3 & H4 fit the FD2?

HB gobes ie. HB3/4 are like an "L" shape, where as h3/4 globes are straight therefor you can not fit a H4 globe if the FD2's require HB4

These are the 50 plus globes being suggested
HB4 globe:

H4 globe:

I have used these globes before and there is a huge difference in the quality of light of these compared to stock globes
Hope it helps

The +50 globes do last less than the standard globes.

The Narva/Osram bulbs last about 12 months on a stock car. If your car has a modded intake or coils, then they last shorter (up to 6 months I found) because of the vibrations reducing the life of the filament. I'm now using Phillips to find out how long they last (2 months so far).
