H11
i m currently using Polarg 5000K, not bad. However, i had Mtec before, it's cheaper + it is SOLID crystal white.
you can't really tell unless you have polarg and mtec next to each other, the mtec is slight whiter than polarg

price ranges? and where can they be sourced? i know there is a where to buy section but its pointless to create a new thread.

Follow this DIY - it is cheaper, brighter, whiter than any H11 fog light you can buy on the market.

i actually recommended my friend to do as the DIY said. I sourced a set of H9's and carried out the mod. I didn't fit them as i didn't have access to a hoist or anything. but my friend took it to honda dealership and said it was the wrong one.
i thought maybe they were just lazy.
so my friend tried a panel shop where his car was getting repaired, and they said it was wrong as well.
it's just a standard 07 accord euro, with the standard HID headlights. any ideas why?

thanks!

agree with yfin.

i followed the DIY with the H9 bulbs and the results are really good, better than i expected!

You don't need a hoist to get access to the fog light bulbs. Look in your user manual it shows you how to do it.

no some H9 bulbs have the metal 'guides' slightly in different positions hence not being able to fit into the groves of the H11 socket.

however because it is only slightly off you should be able to cut the 'guides' a little with some tin snips or just bend the 'guides' slightly and it should fit. just be careful when doing so, so you don't damage the bulb itself

that must be the reason why they 'didn't fit'

gee, this forum gets some good activity. should get a honda...

Because it's not standard, of course they won't fit it.

Got a question, want to get some foglights installed (Genuine ones from Honda) for my 05 Std Euro. Are they worth it? They want $500 fitted, do you find the stock bulbs are bright enough or what? What's the best move to do, not get the foggies or buy them and replace the bulbs?

Fogs are absolutely useless, I find my low beam's range and angle of coverage alot better, the fogs are just for show. I just did a H11 to H9 conversion tonight, took me 2hrs, the gap is sooooo tight to stick my hand in, and I'm considered small already.

Agreed, the fogs are useless, for decoration only.the conversion looks good but i'm too lazy to do it as i don't use my fogs anyway.

yeah, but the DIY guide made no mention on it. And even claimed that the 'ONLY' difference was the extra opposing tab inside the connector (the one that is meant to be sliced off).

Ok if they were different bulbs and managed to fit to the existing connector maybe, but taking it to them and expecting them to slice off the tab is unlikely to say the least.

If you sliced the tab yourself, why didn't you install it yourself?

it wasn't my car, and i bloody got them for him and everything, and wasn't prepared to waste any more time. i'm so sick of helping people and doing favours.
anyway, enough complaining.

so i can definitely do it from underneath.
do i need to jack her up?

06-05-2008, 07:07 PM
no you will not need to jack up your car to change the fog lights if you car is standard height if its lowered then yes you will need to

Not to be rude of anything but....RTFM
For the 06+ models theres 2 screws + one clip that needs to be removed before you can bend the cover and stick your hands through

anybody know the output wattage and consumption wattage of the stock h11 bulbs? If I bought aftermarket bulbs with output wattage of 80W and consumption wattage of 55W, would I have issues with heat/melting?

Also, is is true the yellow bulbs give the best visibility?

I too have this problem !!

I just tried the fog mod using H9's aswell would not fit in slot's, followed yfin's DIY seemed basic, but said nothing about modifying tabs to fit in slots !! :(

Has anyone else had this problem with H9's not fitting in slots?

sorry to be obnoxious but, i haven't done H9 mods cause i will be losing my foglights when i get bumper installed.

But in yfin's DIY, doesnt he cut the tab on the bulb so it's compatible with H9 socket?
my mate also said it was a pain to cut the tab out on teh bulb as there is limited room to stick cut in.

gday mate. easy fix. What I recommend you do is put the h11 and modified H9 bulb side by side. I think the tabs on your H9 bulb are sticking out compared to the h11 - it is a 10 second job with pliers to bend them back - just be careful not to damage the bulb itself. Or you could shorten them with tin snips.

My foglights just arrived http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150296895281&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&viewitem=

i want to paint the outside R81 Milano red to match my car.

Question: When can i buy a small spray can of R81? Any ideas? I dont want to use tiny touch up paint.

Will supercheap or autobarn have this??

^ most autobarn stores now have paint mixers so you should be able to get it from there, i think they even match paint colours so they take off your fuel lid and match it with that.
