I think mines about to go cactus on me
Have searched all threads for alternators but cant really find much useful information. Mine has a really bad whine, but only really happens when I turn the stereo on. It's never been there before.
I have a volt meter on my dashboard (I use it for my stereo). Usually it sits between 13.1v and 13.8v when cruising, and idling it can dip into the 12s but picks up when you rev the car a little. Now it constantly sits above 14v
Im convinced its not the battery, I use an optima yellowtop D51 with stinger expert series titanium terminals.
Any advice? Also how much are alternators to replace, I'm a bit cash strapped at the moment :(
