u after performance or sound?
stephe102

then just get axle back, the spoon bolt on one..pretty loud.
genuine around 800 or sth
or replica around 300.
i would get the hks hipower if i own a jazz, around 500 bit quieter
dont get mixed up with hks eswagon, cos it dont look as good.

5zigen spec A is pretty quiet.
It has a nice note though. The burnt titanium tip looks good as well :)

how much??
Even if i change the axleback part , how would it affect my insurance?
My uncle's dc2r had its NRMA nsurance voided because during a claim, they found that he had cf, spoon calipers, and mugen twin loop exhaust

Well for the full exhaust its about $1600-1700 I believe.
I can't see changing your exhaust affecting your insurance, maybe your premiums but its highly unlikely that it will void your claim.
What was CF on your uncles dc2r? The bonnet? CF Bonnets aren't covered by any major insurer I'm aware of (please tell me if there is someone as I'd like to look into it myself hehe). They are viewed as a safety risk as they don't crumple the same as stock bonnets.
I was told by Just Cars Insurance that in the event of an accident with a carbon fibre bonnet if I was covered by them the bonnet would not be replaced but everything else would be.
For Example: Front end smash that required new headlights and front bar and bonnet. Everything would be covered except the bonnet.
I'd imagine though as with any insurance claim it would be viewed on a case by case basis and they'd try and stooge you anyway they could :)

i got the 5zigen a spec installed.
I found it was pretty loud as I wanted a relatively quiet exhaust but i believe it's the best bang for buck.
yep and whole system is around that price

vtec NA th, if you found the A-Spec loud, you'd hate the Spoon N1 or BC Spec 3 or 4 lol

With regards to the needs of the tread originator,
I prefer the less restrictive efficient muffler but I do not
have the need to broadcast to everyone I'm coming their
way 200 metres away.
Where do I go from here ? Back to stock muffler ? #$%^&!
Would free flowing offset sports muffler(mouthful here)
be a consideration? or defeat the primary reason for
an 'efficient' muffler?
I like a quiet 'sleeper', or there's no such thing as a
quiet free flow muffler but a compromise.
I hope someone could provide some knowledge on this.
Thanks.

if driving manual, opt for HKS... sound nicer.. but low end will suffer..

My friend is using 5zigen header and 5zigen Pro-racer Spec A. Compare to my GF's Jazz, it feels a lot better. Just a bit noisy compare to stock. He got a good deal from Maxhondapower (Edw-R). Not sure if you can. LoL

I use the netami universal twin loop (http://www.netamiusa.com/pdut_detail.asp?ID=460) .. it uses 2 inch inlet pipe which i think is good enough for a jazz .. i used to use xforce street type muffler and people on the passenger seat always complain haha ..

I've got a xforce s10 twinloop. Its relatively quiet but once you open you the revs you can't hear it anymore only audible at low rpms below 2500. So it would be good for the daily driver

I can post a video of my Fit with the Mugen Titanium exhaust. It has a perfect sound, nice and deep. Not raspy or ricey sounding. It was costly but it performed great (with mugen drop in and header I was able to drop my 1/4 time by almost 2 seconds and gained about 8mph).

if you guys want an idea what a spoon muffler sounds like with a spoon b-pipe check out this you tube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puPQVnTwV64
*Please note. the blue car only had a ( catback )spoon N1 muffler and b-pipe. without intake modifications. Had 16" buddy club rims with toyo proxie4 tyres. also had one extra passenger (2 people in car)
*Please note the red car also had a catback (no brand custom generic job) with a exposed air filter (short ram) with oil breather. Comprised of a DIY plastic 90 degree bend which attatched to pod filter. This car had an amp and sub in the back. (1 person in car)
