double over head cam , single over head cam. double is better in so may ways. and im not shore but i think vtec has more of an affect with a dohc rather then a sohc

yeah sohc vtec adjusts lift only on intake valves... whereas dohc vtec is on both intake and exhaust side.

For the D series, the DOHC models don't have VTEC.

That's an SOHC VTEC. Since it's JDM, you can't use the wiki article to determine what it is.

oh this engine, i was about to buy this for my cousin. i did some research on this motor, it was originally non vtec, i think the last owner did mini-me on it.
because d16a are the ek (non vtec) sohc engine in US.

Well i dink this motor has the jdm d15 vtec head, d15 stock is 100kw(?)
I guess the output power should be greater the y1 and y8
That's what i found.
Can someone confirm

thats looks like a d15b engine jap spec

sohc vtec with 130hp from a 1.5 litre.

comes from a eg esi/vti

In that case, probably a d15b head on a d15a block like what Phuong1987 suggested.

Yea..but the replacement series for D is B..and they are all DOHC models,u can see that most CRX and Civic Hatchbacks are running on B16a or B18b in Japan..and the power output is much higher than the D series as the B series is made for racing purposes..

D series are older than the B if i am not mistaken and the situation is like the new K series taking over the B series now..the new and improved version will take over the current one.

Not really. There are always 2 lines in Honda engines. One is for fuel economy while the other is for performance. The replacement for the D is the R series, not the B.

D and B series
F and H series
R and K series
