I have searched for this and could not find a dedicated thread to this subject...now other than Ryco and an OEM oil filter, what else is available?
Of those available:
1 which ones to stay away from due to crap innards, irrespective to price?
2 which ones are good but too expensive to justify the cost?
3 which ones are good and are great value for money?

Objective replies from those with experience from trying different brands would be ideal.
cheers

jim, OEM is the best, no question and plus, it gives the added benefit of warranties etc if ur car is still udner it.
OEM is always best, hte best fit, and the filtration has been designed by Honda engineers.

Wyn is right. there only 14.98 ex list price, or 13.18 trade, and thats with out having to render any services. thats for the PLC filter which does all hondas except the old school civics and accord with the larger thread on the filter or the ledgend with the cartridge.
I usually dont get much change from $40 for a filter and 5L FEO.

Anyone tried PureOne Oil filters? What do you reckon?

I've used them instead of Ryco.. and they seem to be much better. Dunno about Honda OEM.. Suppose anything Honda is good. But PureOne is not bad.. should try it out!

The website is www.pureoil.com

Something I forgot to add before....the guy in the parts division at Doncaster Honda reckons the OEM Honda oil filters are good for 20000 kms!! Thats 4 oil changes for me....does this sound a bit far fetched to you guys? Does to me.

$65 for an oil filter. jesus! Anyways I just used a valvoline one from super cheap. Worth around $5-8 I believe. I guess OEM is the best, but to me, an oil filter is an oil filter. Oil itself is a whole new ball game though ;)
