I noticed that my Honda dealer included a 'fuel injector treatment' and 'engine flush' at alternate services for my Honda Euro.

As I couldn't find the items maintainence logbook i rang my local dealer who said that that the service department did them as a routine at 20000 / 40000km services. It's basically a fuel tank additive to clean the varnish / sludge etc...

All for the cost of about $25-30. As I already pay the extra for BP ultimate and use Mobil 1 gold synthetic 10W-30 I wonder how much crap my one year old euro would have in it's engine?

Hmmms.... so does it really make a difference or do you think it's a way to add some more money to the profit margin at the service department?

What do people think?

It's profit making for service dept.Manual states:[QUOTE]Your car does not require any oil additives.Additives may adversely affect your engines or transmissions performance and durability[QUOTE].I was also told by Honda service that injector cleaner is not necessary as the Euro engine is very clean burning. So tell your service dept.:thumbdwn:to additives

Don't need it. If you want it, just get it from Autobarn and put it into the tank yourself.

Fuel injector cleaners are ok only when it comes to cleaning up... Best is to use Ultrasonic Clean....

I was also told that ultrasonic clean is the best but that you should only need it if you engine is running rough or you have high kms.
