hi! i've recently bought a second hand 2003 GD3 and wanted to get an engine conversion and would like to know how around how much it will cost for an conversion. Looking for either a B-series or a K-series or DC engines. And where to get it done in melbourne as well.

how much would my engine be worth? its only gone 40,000kms? and is still in excellent condition?

in other words the money you spend getting the conversion and engineered would far exceed that of your current cars new price value.

oh and your engine would probably worth next to nothing cos it's a jazz engine and no one really wants them

basically, this is the answer to your question~

K20 engine (incl LSD and stuffs + installation): $12000 round

B18 or B16: $7000-9000

I dont live in Melb, so cant suggest a good place for you.

A jazz engine normally worth abt $1000-$2000. But it depands on your luckiness, coz itz hard to sell em out~

If you really want to have the engine swap. I rekon you to buy a new car.
Such as Dc2 or Dc5, the price that you would haveto pay for a real type-r is more or less the same as you do a engine swap, except your really addicted to Jazz, if not..this is my recomendation~

it's illegal for the engine to be older than the chassis so that rules out any engine other than the k series unless it's for track and shit like that, and since there are very few k series in jazzes a lot of custom work would also be required for it all to be fitted so that $12,000 fitted and motor Gupz is probably way off to be fitted in a jazz anyway, and you'll need to find a mech that is willing to do it without raping everything out of frustration :p

I dont know what engine that you are running but if it L15A vtec MT, you might try to get a better cluth system to get more hp at wheels. It might not that much powerful but i should be a car that fun to drive though.

every car has its limit so if you want more power you should considering get an eg or ek hatch with B series. That might answer your need.

Have a good luck on your conversion:wave:
