Hey,

very noob question.

i was looking at to rotate my tyres myself.

is it as simple as just swapping the rear tyres to the front? and vice versa?

or does it need to be balanced n shit again before being swapped?

like for tyre wear or alignment issues..

if they are rotational. put the back to front and vice versa

if they arent swap rear left and front right etc

not 2 sure about the balancing. but i believe u only need 2 balance when putting the tyres on the rim

actually on nondirectional its better to
put the fronts on the back - front left goes rear left
but crisscross the back with the front - rear left front right

LOL wtf?
so why dont u just move the front left to the front right LOLOL

putting the fronts on the back would evenly wear out the tyres

instead of having fronts 20% and rears 80%
they both would be 50-50
for example

du, non directional will should be
front right to rear left
front left to rear right
left rear to rear front
right rear to front left
so just swap them to the opposite corners

if directional
swap them front to back but on the same side, ie rear right goes to front right...

i guess u could balance them as a precaution
but if u dont feel a vibration while driving then dont worry

All modern radial tires take a "set" in their cords. That simply means they have been run in one direction and the cords conform or bend to the forces put on them and will remain "bent" in that direction of travel. If you then turn the tires around and run them in the other direction there is a increased chance of the cords resisting movement in the "wrong" direction and overheating or separating due to the excessive heat created by the resistance.

So that simply means that directional or not you SHOULD put them back on GOING IN THE SAME DIRECTION OF TRAVEL.

So if you are cheap front to back and back to front SAME SIDE ONLY. Or send the money and have the tires dismounted from the rims and x rotated then put back on the rims and balanced going in the same direction but with the inside now out.

yeah was told my tyres couldnt be done that way.. cant even out the camber wear kinda thing. lol

inside out.

but yeah.. made it more clear. thanks
