:honda:ey guys..

i am installing a JVC head unit into my honda civic but the head unit switches on for a few seconds then switches off..

what could the problem be ? help needed please as i am doing this atm.

maybe u got ur constant wire mixed up with ur acc wire?

it worked yesterday when we put the deck back in place but then later it switched off ... all the wires were connected properly but a few came out, then we connected them back but still no luck....... the deck still just switches on then off :[

maybe you have a short somewhere. Power could be touching the casing which would produce a short. If you have a multimeter or even a light tester just check your connections maybe you have them the wrong way around. It sounds like you have got the vcc and acc the wrong way around. what you can do is earth the light or multimeter with the chasey with your car off and see which wire generates a reading or light to turn on. when you find it this will be your power. Then for your acc turn your car ignition to acc you should get a reading of around 12.5-13.5v this will obviously be your acc. The acc is not designed to power up your amplifier it is only used to activate the power through i beleive a transister. So acts like a switch. Hope this helps you

check your earth.
common thing, when people don't earth it properly, or pick a good spot.
that will happen.
