piston to deck/piston to cylinder hight?

hey guys

i need to know the safe specs of my piston outter edge - to inside cylinder head clearance. I have not measured clearances yet.


I have a shaved (not sure how much has been shaved) b18c block
weisco 81.5 piston
darton semi closed sleve
b18c5 head
copper 3mm gasket


I have searched.
any help is much apreciated.

1mm is safe... More than this is not so good.
You'll need to dummy assemble it & measure the projection height.
On an unmachined B18C, most forged pistons (30mm compression height) are 0.45mm below the deck height when installed (@ TDC)

I wouldn't use the copper gasket either.
