So yea just got me car dumped and its lookin fine  BUT....on full lock
and when goin fast over a dumb i get rubbin :thumbdwn:, not sure if its commin from the gaurds or the rubber dust flab just on the edge.

Its an EK 97 civic hatch
17x7 rims
king spring super lows

i was really suprised to find that the front droped more then the back,
anyone else had a simlar experience?

also whats the worst that could happen if i just left it as it is?

ill post a pic up soon

its common on EKs, mine did too when I got the wrong tyre size.
its the tyre rubbing on your guard liner.

obviously its not gonna be good if you let it rub like that all the time. one thing you can do is not to do a full lock turn. or change the wheel size.

other thing is if you want to install coilovers and adjust the setting on the damper. this should help

Are you still running stock shocks? What size are your tyres?

very much so, got 205/45/17x7 and ive still got the stock shockers in there.

im aware that the profile is to big and i probably wouldnt have this problem if i went with the 40 profile but i just got these tyers so i aint gonna change em now. I still find it very odd that the front dropped a bit more then that back. (should be the other way round!)

The guy who did the job offered to take out the super lows in the front and replace em with lows to correct this so im considering doing that.

Also i think the tire is also rubbing the inner guard on full lock i got a picture to show this, anyone know how much it costs to get your front gaurds rolled?

also yea i only get vibration on full lock in the front two wheels

its common with the stock shocks.

and yeah thats right, should use the 40 instead of 45.
the front drop lower, cos you might carry stuff at the back or passenger, so that will equalize the front. otherwise, the car will be tilted backwards and that will look funny.

Yeah, should've gone with 40's...

It's lower at the front because of the weight of the engine.

I just got mine lowered 30mm King springs today, 205/40/17- no rubbing. Heard from several that I could have gone down 45mm with the 40's, but possibly could have had scrubbing issues. How much lower are the super lows? Sounds like you'd be better off with 40's (I guess this isn't an option for the moment..), or just changing the springs to the next one up? That's probably the solution- he's offered it too.. :)

RY, you will notice that your new king springs should settle abit after a couple of weeks...which means just a tiny touch lower.

just flare your guards or take out the inner guard. it really isnt very hard. just a phillips head screwdriver will be enough to take the plastic off.

if its rubbing on the actual guard then get them lipped or rolled. if you dont want that well when you get new tyres go for a 40 series tyre.

car looks good by the way. any difference in acceleration by running 17's over stock?

What ramifications are there with removing the plastic guard completely though?

yea since i got the 45 the speedmomiter is out by about 10km but doesnt really concert me, when i got the 45 i was told it would give me a better ride and longer life so we'll see how i go.

hey i rate your ride there, i was thinkin about the king lows but everyone was sayin go with the super lows, came up nice, but yea i think i might just go get the lows put in (since its free of charge) and leave the super lows in the back since i aint got any issue with rubbin that way. i guess i could get the guards rolled but thats means more $$$ and i dont think i wonna be takin out the plastic guard.

still gota get the wheel aliginment done...might have 2 invest in a camber kit

cheers boys

removing the plastic guard doesnt fix ur problem so dont bother coz its happened to me. the only option I have is change my suspension setup and raise my front end. Im currently rolling on 18x7.5. When I use to have 17x7 didnt have any problem with it so I'd say its the oem shocks thats worn out.

not 2 sure about that, when i had my new springs put in the guy who did it said my shocks where still in great condition.

also remember im runnin a larger profile (45)

what offset are the rims?
that could be contributing to the problem.

i have 18x7.5 rims with 215/35 rubber 45mm lower and had bad scrub at the beginning but after i had the guards rolled and cut away most of that front plastic tire well thing it was mostly gone. i also got whiteline sway front and rear and it is no longer possible to get any scrub as the body roll is almost gone completely now
