i just wanted to know if anyone else had a problem with the idling on an EK Hatch. when i start the car it revs fine but when warmed up the revs are up and down.when i bought the car it had an apexi rsm hooked up could that be the problem coz it has started playin up the last couple of weeks. i am just after some ideas of what it could be.

check your mass air flow sensor, or your O2 sensor first of all.

and yeah, definitely get the RSM checked too. the wiring, setting etc. or even the unit itself:p

Sounds like its just a dirty throttle body or IACV, or the sensor.

If not enough air gets in the engine, the ECU compensates and constantly re-adjusts to get the right air flow.

^^^yep, i have had a few lately. On the EKs the call them a rotary air control vave. Remove your TB then the RACV, unscrew the electical section off the RACV and give the TB and RACV a good clean. Whack it back together and there you have it, a sweet idle.

What about for a B16A? My EG just started doing this same thing when it's warming up. My under bonnet nous is remarkably poor so you may need to be quite specific! Thanks!

Quite possible the fast idle valve; check the DIY (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64161&highlight=fitv)
