Engine Tuning & Technical Support by Toda Australia

Many Thanks to MFactory and Toda for their support

Note that this car competes in full street trim (Aircon, Rear seats, Radio etc)

It was a great day, well, it didn't exactly start off that great because a Mirage shat its engine on the racing line in turn 1 and dumped 4 litres of oil. That delayed the whole event and I really feel for the guy.

It was a learning curve as I've never driven the bridge part of the circuit, but now I have, no excuses for the next time. :-). Everytime I go into Turn 1, I'm like do I go flat out...The others were calling it a kink..Ok, i'll try..Heck No..I'm braking...LOL

Turn 5 over the bridge was just as interesting. Everytime I come up to the bridge, I go WOAH!! Brake Brake!!.
Some nice guys advised that you start turning in right where you come on the bridge, I try to keep that in mind, but still, its, Crest! WOAH! ...

Of course in my class I gave up 0.5 seconds to the quick old guy with a Datsun 1600 race car. I had to respect my elders. :-p

If anyone is interested in joining the Honda Car Club or participating/want to find out more about Supersprints, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Enjoy and thanks for your support

Great! Let me know if I can help with information in anyway...

The Plastic bag was my biggest nemesis that day, but I managed to dump it into the vacuum!

I don't really know but there was a huge cloud of smoke so he might have put a hole in his block or something...

question about ur moroso sump champ - what lower reinforcement do you use ? Stock B16 or B18c2 ? There is a issue with the B18c7/c5 reinforcement so im sure there wont be a problem using the other B series ones...

I'm not sure what you mean by lower reinforcement. Can you elaborate?
If you're talking about a Crank Girdle, I don't run one. My Bottom End is stock B16A, just rebuilt with new bearings but not even balanced!! LOL.

The Moroso Sump is just an OEM replacement bolt on Sump with Baffles.

Come on...8 rounds a year...you don't have to come to all 8... :-)
You don't even need super dooper car...

They've got classes that cater for all cars...

I realise its a OEM replacement , but it wont fit onto a B18c7 due to the gearbox reinforcement ( bolts right near and aroudn the highest sump end).

Dont worry ive answered my own question :)

Nice run.

Yah, I also noticed for the 1st turn, you are not "jumping into corner" enough, I reckon you are losing ground/times on that turn, the other turns I feel you did fine.

IMHO, certain turns you just need to jump into it, turn 1 is just one of those turns you don't really have to brake early. But all in all, great run on your stock B16a. This example just shows with good rubbers and suspension tuning, your car can also run great without the need for heavy modifications.

Thanks...yeah, I was really holding back on turn 1, didn't really commit as I wasn't overly confident on my reference points.

The Engine's not entirely stock, It runs Toda Cs and has had Porting done.
Bottom end is still stock though.

Great stuff and thanks for the advise...next time I pick up some steel balls at bunnings and jump into turn 1...LOL

Looks like the bigger brakes are working quiet well!! I am sure you should be able to beat the Dat1600 in the next round @ EC. Your car has higher top speed then the old Dat.

Again, I wont be able to attend round 6, (car is not ready yet) but I would really like to attend round 7 in mid Sept.

Your car looks great, its lot lower then before, stripped all the interiors and you should be able to run 1.55 @ EC.

Yeah? You reckon that if I stripped the interior it will make a difference?

Take turn 1 in fifth, I did. And as I said at the track, I was really busy downshifting before turn 2. I did forget to take the flip flop in 4th like I did in Rnd 4 - doh!

Hey, great results, good to see some racing going on, hopefully I can try come out to a round or 2. Great to see some video posted as well, but I think you should mount the camera further back, then we get to see gear changes etc haha Cheers, Chris

The Camera is taped to my seat, I'll try and make a mount for the next round at Eastern Creek which is this coming Sunday.

Is it pure bad luck or something similar with every "dreaded tale" of a blown motor @ the track ?
