Hitting VTEC....?

I understand what VTEC is and what it's for, but I'm confused by what peeps mean by 'hitting VTEC'

basicly it means when ur car changes to the high cam 'vtec' and the engine starts 2 rev faster,louder... when vtec kicks in is when the cam changes over :)

well same thing applies with vtec. when you see a vtec, you say "damn i'd hit that vtec!"
