guys a quick question
this is installing an asr plate on an EK civic with existing sway bar
do i need to use the little backing plates supplied?

For EK4, the answer is no. The backing plates supplied are not needed.

There are threaded nuts welded on the back of the subframe already.

i wouldnt rely on the OEM threaded nuts - as they will but under quite alot more stress compared to the oem bar.

You are supposed to drill them out with a 3/8 drill bit , so the 2 bolts can fit and grip the backing plate easily.
This "plate"at the rear is one part of the increased subframe reinforcement.

I used the backing plates, was sure it helped to even up the back section when bolting it back on.
Didn't do any drilling though

i installed mine on an EG and the holes were a bitch to line up.
do new holes i say. Extra strength and possibly better alignment (depending how you drill the holes)
