View Full Version : Please identify a lipkit & help with some questions..
Hey all, so I'm in the market for a a rear lip, sideskirts, and front lip for a 00 EK. Think I'm settling on:
I'm assuming they're just Type R/styled front and rear lips with sideskirts (please correct me if I made a mistake). The front lip I'm not -too- sure.. seems a lot cleaner or shorter than a lot of the other 'type r' lips around. Is it something else?
So far, my options seem to be purchasing them from http://www.carmate.com, http://www.xracing.com.au, and ebay. Ebay one's seem a bit cheaper.
Anyone with some good kit advice (in terms of ease of installation, possible DIY, cost, comparisons between ones to get and ones not to get etc.) or possible problems to highlight?
Thanks again, cheers.

Front and rear look like CTR (Civic Type R) lips and the side skirts look like colour coded stockies.
There's a few traders on the forum which still kits like those.

front lip is ctr lip from facelifted ek rear is ctr lip,
in all honesty if you're an ek nut and every minor detail matters get oem because there will be slight differences but most people will never be able to spot them unless ur picky like me
replicas are good if you get ones that are not too cheap, i'm not going to advertise for myself here but yeh i fit many replicas they all good and ppl walk away happy, but at the end of the day... genuine > replica bluck honda charges an outrageous price for most oem stuff. ohh good replicas need zero modification you just need a screwdriver and some tape.. glue if you're paranoid ..
and if you pay more than 150 per lip for those... ur getting jipped hard for replicas that is
thats just the 99-00 CTR/EM1 lip
Thanks for the new replies people. Appreciated.
scyt7e: Would you happen to know how much would OEM front and rear lips usually cost roughly? Would be pretty handy if I could get it straight from Honda.
Also, the sideskirts, any ideas? Fr3aKi3 says they could be colour coded stockies (stock skirts?), but my skirts look a bit different, they're not really flared near the rear wheel.
And does the 99-00 CTR/EM1 front lip fit on a 00 EK1?
Apologies for the barrage of noobie q's!

Just clarifying terminology, what exactly does 'coded' and 'facelift' mean/refer to?
Mine was made in June 2000 too, if it helps.

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56135&highlight=pre+facelift
refer to that for differene on facelift and pre facelift
coded mean to match the lil black strip/skirts to ur body color
ur skirts look prety much stock, it may be that after its coded u can see more of a flare/definition of the skrit
Just rang Austral Honda about the OEM lips, and the lady said it was part of the actual bumper, and faxed me a parts diagram.. which turns out to not have the lip at all. lol.
I don't suppose anyone has a part number or a better description for me to give them? Thanks..
Actually! Don't worry- just ordered the parts.. for a ridiculous amount of money lol. $633 for the pair.
The quote for the OEM front bumper which the first lady gave me by mistake was $323, rear $308.
Crazy that lips cost that near that much too.. Now need to find a painter..

I got my front lip from jdmconcept for $245 delivered...probably not that cheap either but still cheaper than from honda themselves! And yes it's genuine ctr lip.
Hey is there much of a difference between the OEM lip and the CTR lip?

omfg that is such a rip lolol :thumbdwn:
Yeah was a bit pricy, but I figured that with places like carmate and xracing, I'd have to pay for shipping as well, so would add up. Might as well get the genuine thing..
