hi sorry guys im kinda new to all this, but im just wondering if you guys can explain to me whats the difference b/w the SoHC Vtec and the DOHC Vtec

In a nutshell, SOHC is only actiaved on the intake and is for Economy rather than downright performance.
DOHC VTEC activates both intake and exhaust valves. It is for ultimate performance.
Have a read in the Tech Sticky and see the link I have posted in there (has a full description of the various VTEC implementations on that site).

SOHC = 1x camshaft to control both intake and exhaust valves.
DOHC = 2x camshafts, one to control the intake valves, the other to control the exhaust valves.
Having 2 cams allows for better control of valve lift, duration giving more power etc.
