Tell us the details Kit.....

What happened to the Euro and the A3? The A3 would have been hot...

Kit
20-07-2004, 12:59 PM
Although the gf liked the look of the A3, it was never really a serious contender.

GF drove the Accord Euro and loved it... but at the end of the day just couldn't justify spending all that money on a car with the huge repayments, so we settled on the Jazz VTi-S.... in White... and got rid of her piece of European trash.

Good choice.....

Did she get the auto as well?

Any mods planned?

Kit
20-07-2004, 03:52 PM
Yep got the CVT as her mum needs to drive it from time to time.

IMO, I reckon the jazz is just so much better with teh CVT, can't believe that I'd actually prefer an auto over a manual!

Jus-10
20-07-2004, 03:55 PM
I never even drove the CVT....sounds impressive.

Hope she enjoys it.

FIT
21-07-2004, 12:34 AM
ive got a cvt vti and its soo sweat, 70 felt like 40 when in cvt mode "D". There's also a sports gear "S" (below "D") u can use for abit of fun and the power band is higher and holds more longer up to 7000rpm max before the fuel cut out. it wont hurt the engine "much" but your gears will suffer.

mines nearly done 40ks already :( (2002 vti)

dc

waiting for mine to arrive.....
how long did guys take to let it break in?

wyl03
21-07-2004, 09:21 AM
just take it easy for the 1st 1000km. bring it in for servicing.

modern engines should be pretty tough .. nonetheless .. don't redline it within the 1st 1000 kms.

Fit: when did you buy your car? what is the build date of it?

Pete :)

Kit
21-07-2004, 10:34 AM
If you're really anal like me, change the engine oil 3 times within the 5000km, but don't use full synthetic until the 5000km oil change, from there on change it every 5000 or 10000km depending on how anal you are hehehe

Jus-10
21-07-2004, 12:57 PM
I would probably run it in properly for about the first 4-5,000km.

As Kit said if you want to be super anal do what he suggests. I took it easy to 1,000 (varying engine speed, load, revs etc to bed it in) and then changed the oil, then changed the oil to synthetic at 5,000km. I started gdriving it hard occasionally at around the 4,000 mark (I'm on 6,500 now). I change my oil every 4-5,000km.

Guys wots the best honda dealer in syd to get a jazz from.

Im jugglign between a dc2r and a jazz vti-s.

so u jazz guys get me attracted to a decent jazz dealer and i may join the jaz boys lol

BTW, what is the car model number for a jazz/fit?? , eg EG6, EK9, DC2R, etc

Jus-10
10-10-2004, 11:51 AM
Do a search for the model numbers.....I have posted it on several occasions.

To give you a bit of a hint, we only get the GD1 and GD3.....

Whether you get a Jazz over a DC2R is entirely up to you and probably not something we can help with because they are completely different cars. You'll need to make that call.

As for dealers, Kit and I got ours from Rick Damelian. I have heard good reports about the Parra dealer, and the Hornsby dealer seems to be OK. I can't stand Scotts at Artarmon...they were rude as f*ck to me when I went looking and tried to make out that they were doing me a favour by offering me $40k on a trade for my 4 month old, $70k BMW....I have also heard some other people aren't too happy with Scotts.

i spotted a black VTI-S jazz with gold rims at Chatswood yesterday. nice!

btw, i scratched my car big time, against some multi-storey car park railings! ARGH. :(
have lodge a claim with NRMA and will need a trip to the smash repair as i was told the door panel has to be replaced.
such a stoopid thing to do.

those railings are nasty ... but stupid drivers don't help either.

Hi guys, I am also a Jazz owner, and proud of it. LOL
(only cos i couldn't get my beetle.. LOL..no worries the JAZZ rocks!!)
I got it just over a week ago, and the very next day i went and ordered a new plate [JA.22.ZY] what do you think ? ;)

hingy
16-04-2005, 04:00 PM
Btw... where's the best place to go and buy rims?? i so wanted to put 17' on the car...but perhaps 16' would be better..?? if so.. i want to go have a lil shop around...any suggestions?

Jus-10
16-04-2005, 05:25 PM
The plate is pretty good - good thinking!

17s will fit with a few rubbing issues up back - but that is pretty easily fixed, but depends what you are after. If you want performance, go for a set of 15s or 16s at the most. I have 16s and they are good compromise as they are in good proportion to the rest of the car IMO.

The Indos roll on 19s so they will fit too if you want.

What style are you after? Jap race tuner, Bling-chrome and what's the budget? That is the big question

If you want chrome, head to places like Tempe Tyres. If you want to get something more JDM, Payless Tyres has a pretty good selection at some reasonable prices. They often have a lot of stuff in stock too which means you don't have to wait months on end for an order to arrive from Japan.

Also check out the "Traders" section as there are often some good deals in there...

Where abouts are you located in Sydney and what colour vibe did you get?

hingy
16-04-2005, 08:58 PM
Thanks for that.... guess i'll go look around...
however, I might just stick with 17" roh rims, the car is a sirius blue colour, so mayb shadow chromes might look good on it...
i'm just around the Livo area, West Syd.

Jus-10
16-04-2005, 09:02 PM
Congrats on the new purchase.

The ROH rims are cheap but heavy.

If you're down Livo way, check out Big-O tyres. Cheap stuff there...

hingy
16-04-2005, 09:13 PM
heaheha
yea see how it goes.. i was planning on getting them painted white...but who knows... someone quoted me $50 a wheel.

So why are ROH rims heavy???

Jus-10
16-04-2005, 09:24 PM
$50 a wheel sounds about right...

I don't know why they are heavy....that's just the way they are made. I have just seen a few comments in the past from people commenting specifically on those cheap ROH wheels being quite heavy.

hingy
16-04-2005, 09:30 PM
does that apply for ROH adrenalin rims??

16-04-2005, 09:54 PM
I'm also looking at Te37 look alikes.. i.e. like lenso VE
what is the best price i should be looking at when shopping around?
thanks ;)

Jus-10
16-04-2005, 10:09 PM
Those ROH Adrenalin ones are the ones I'm talking about...

Big-O do Lensos (They are at Moorebank). As I said, they are pretty cheap so see what they can do first and then do the ring around and see if anyone can beat it.

i've got the gunmetal VE on 15s.
u can try Baulkham Hills Tyre King (sorry don't have their number with me). you can get a set with Falken tyres for ard 800.

Big O Tyres will have the VE with tyres for around the same price. 16s will cost ard 400~500 more.

hingy
18-04-2005, 10:01 PM
serious????
that sounds good!!!
i'll try look up on the number... u sure its around the 800 with tyres? even with 15' ? how much do u think 16' would be extra??

no comments on nankangs .. don't really know a lot of pple who've tried it.

falken has a whole range of tyres. the azenis (ST115?) is very popular, very good grip apparently. you can see them on many SS utes

any competent shop should be able to do most things....
