Hi, does anyone have the same OEM headunit as this one:

sorry about the bad pic. ill try get another one tomorow, but im sure you can see what it looks like

I want to change it to an alpine unit, but it looks like the stock one is slightly bigger than 1 din. will an aftermarket 1din headunit fit in no problems, or will there need to be some modding/use of the dash trim surrounding for aftermarket HUs.

I will be keeping the CD stacker below it (cbfed taking it out)

any comments would be great

thanks

that looks like the stock unit with the optional stacker.
if it is then it a regular single DIN size.

u can buy a pocket to put in there if u just want to put in a regualr headunit and remove the stacker too.

ah sweet thanks mate

I may try look for a universal one because honda will charge me an arm and leg for it. autobarn/JBhifi should have them? tower audio/freeway car audio in melbourne are low on aerpro products etc

otherwise i'll keep the stacker in there

or you could just get a double din with stacker then just sell both stock hu and stacker.

digging up an oldish thread, but if i were to install a single din HU, would i need to use the headunit trim (black plastic rectangular thing) to fill in any gaps?

i cant find my one, never had to use it in my previous car though.....

also, would the typeS headunit (double din) fit ok in the luxury teg? the dash is the same so it should fit snug, but is the plug at the back of the typeS HU the same as the base/luxury plug?

the connection may be different but the HU will fit

Fits perfectly :) no movement whatsoever.

This is mine, with an Alpine Deck (flip out model).
