If you're after a decent headunit then the 3950 is pretty good, it's only got 2 sets of RCA pre-outs so if you're gonna use a 4 channel amp and a monoblock it wont be ideal. Strathies or JB would have it for less and you dont have to worry about postage.

get it cheaper from ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LATEST-2007-NEW-PIONEER-DEH-P3950MP-MP3-WMA-CD-STEREO_W0QQitemZ120145683134QQihZ002QQcategoryZ397 52QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

if you're willing to pay as much as RYDA, then might as well go 1 up higher to 4950 or even the 5950IB !!!

Anyway, click on the link below to have a look at a range of Pioneer HU in ebay Oz:

a friend recently was thinking about getting that exact h.u. he followed my advice & went one model up (4950) cus of the extra preout. u should do the same if youre thinking of expanding your system in the future.

didnt cost him much more. forgot wat exact price he told me but it was under $300

The 4950 also has aux in, it's just at the back of the headunit so you'd have to run a cable somewhere through the dash.

I installed a 3950 into a van last week for my mates dad. Very simple to use, tuning is very basic with a certain amount of presets and adjustments for High, Mid and Low range frequencies as well as a high and low pass filter. With some Pioneer headunits (more so the 1950-4950) they can suffer from a bit of glare with direct sunlight. The readout on the 4950 is a bit easier on the eyes, the blue on the 3950 is alrite during the day but at night it can be bloody bright and i can't remeber if it has an auto dimming feature.

Anything under DEHP5950 has a ugly ass display.

Its to silver and sticks out like dogs balls on a black dash.

Kenwood KDC4033AX is one to look at as well.
Sony CDXGT360 is alright.

All look newer and better displays then the ugly cheap cost cutting Pioneer 2007 range.
