I remember reading somewhere that different coloured smoke coming from exhaust represents different things?
Can anyone tell me what they are?

blue is burning oil i'm quite sure.
black is running rich.
white is water.

you should only see smoke at certain times
black smoke = at full throttle upper RPMs
white smoke = early morning starts / cold mornings (condensation etc)
blueish smoke = when excess oil is getting into your combustion cycle
white smoke = when excess water/coolant is getting into you combustion cycle
- time for a compression test / leakdown test.
oh ok what do you mean running rich? as in too much?
any other colours?

or boosted cars as well.
I was reving my vtec to about 7000 rpm yesterday and my friend said he saw blue/grey smoke coming out, what would that mean?
Hope its nothing too serious :(

As stated above its burning oil.
Meaning the oil you're using is too thin for your car try and thicker one?
