Greetings all, its good to be on OzHonda.

Iv had my teg for about a year and a half now but just starting reading some forum threads relating to suspension as i need to replace shocks and bushings.
This is a great a place to be becuase chances are there is someone here who has gone through what you are going through. Good to be here.

At the moment mods on the teg include:
Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch
XForce Twin Loop Catback Exhaust
ITR Gear Knob and Shift Boot
Mugen Pedal Kit
Spoon Reservior Covers

In the near future i am looking to install Tein Basic Damper Coilovers and hopefully some ITR strut and sway bars.

Money of course is the issue cause im at uni.
Any coilover related advice is greatly appriciated. As is any suggestion that improves handling. Cheers.

Love that VTEC

thanks alot guys.

haha yeah i started out by taking the airbox cover off just for while, then i would put it back on, but i just love the induction noise over 4 grand. nice n growly :p

so that cover is pretty much always off.

the twin loop sounds great. its pretty quiet on the highway when u want some shush, but when u hit vtec it picks up really well. its not droney like some aftermarket exhausts can be. wouldnt mind some headers tho.... :p

how do i post a sound file or video clip?
thanks for the comments guys.

Hey dude,
I'm also a uni student and I only recently got a VTiR. Awesome first car coming from a toyota starlet with 55kWs bahah! (parents car)
Anyways, I was actually looking installing a full Xforce system (2.25" header, hi-flo cat, catback and a twin loop) I was wondering if u could still post that sound clip?

And regards the cover off - HEY! y didn't I think of that?!

Gday mate. congrats on the purchase. haha yeah thats a pretty nice upgrade dude: starlet to vtec integra. well done!

i would definately recommend the exforce system. the 2007 range looks pretty impressive and there is an OZhonda trader who is selling the systems for good prices. (see below)

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64470

i do not have the full system but will eventually be looking to get headers and cat etc, and i have heard great things.

how do i post a sound clip? some of the vids i have are not the best quality but i will post what i have if someone can let me know how. sorry, still a newbie. i plan on making some more vids too, always fun. :p

haha and yes definately take that cover off the airbox. great sound.

good luck with everything.

Haha yea, I did take off my cover today. Didn't really notice any differences until I hit VTEC hard and it was like heeey =)

Btw, do you think a drop in K&N filter would do much? or not really since it already comes stock with a similar filter?

PS: How did u get ur filter so clean?

Probably vacuumed it or used an air gun to blow the dust away, cheaper than buying a replacement filter, well thats what i did anyway

nah i didnt actually do anything to my filter. The stock pod filters as you probably know are disposable, and therefore are changed every 40,000 miles, or at least they should be. My guess is mine was changed quite recently, perhaps when the last major service was done. It just depends on how old your filter is.

As for the K&N drop in, i have thought about getting one many times and still think they are worth while. I have had people tell me that they have noticed little differences in throttle response and maybe a slight change in sound, when they switched from stock to K&N, however if you are not changing the entire intake system, then i doubt it makes that much difference to performance. The stock filters on the integras are quite good, the only major difference being the K&N filter is reusable.

I think the best thing to do tho, is to just save your money and get a cold air induction system. i plan on getting an Injen system (when i have the money) which comes with a new filter anyway.

i am installing a new clutch master cylinder tomorrow, and last week i did the brake master cylinder. the mods ever end. haha:p

talk soon.

Wouldn't removing the air box cover allow more hot air in?

Yea it does on a hot day (e.g. today.) makes the car feel like the clutch is slippin or vtec ain't engaging or something. bUt... on a cool night/day its awesome for something that costs $0. just 4 kicks yo lol

I've opened my bonnet after a drive on a cool day, and the heat coming off it is quite a lot. I wouldn't want that air in my intake.
