even tho those rims are labelled racing rims by ozzy tyres (and yes they are prob the lightest rims they have) they are terribly made and weigh a tonne, and rumour has it they are prone to cracking

in regards to the size, some ppl have trouble putting 18s on a dc5, but in the end of the day the most important part is the offset...wot offset are those rims?

and 19x7 seems quite narrow, most rims 7inch wide are 16s or 17s

Hi guys,

I did a search and couldnt find anything relevant so hopefully you can help me.

I own a 03' DC5 Teggy and am looking to throw so wheels on it soon, however considering the problems i had with the last wheels i bought, id thought id check around first.

Now as standard, the type r comes with 215/45Z R17, 17 x 7JJ.

So, if i put on 215/35/19... 19 x 7, i should have exactly the same width, rolling diameter, and have absoluty no issues with scrubbing whatsoever...

Is this correct? or should i stick to putting 18's on.

Car is on Tein Street Coilovers btw.

As long as the width, rolling diameter and offset are the same, and you don't have scrubbing with the stockies, then you won't have scrubbing with the aftermarket rims.

The 5-spoke DC5R 16" rims are +50. Not sure about the 17s though.

stock wheels on AUDM dc5r are 16x6.5 +45

18" gives u very close to the same overall rolling diameter, 17's are quite diff actaully.
i have 18x7.5 +43 on my car and there no way id go any bigger. from both perfromance and comfort point of view

is that a picture of ur car?

dude, they are only rare cuz ppl who buy DC5Rs generally are about performance.... sadley, you do get the odd 2% who are about 20" chromies with a pumping sound system and pink neon lights.... the majority of ppl know that if u chuck on 19" rims for a car that came with OEM 16" rims, ur cars acceleration will be greatly affected.... but your car is only a base model integra so i guess it probably wouldnt matter too much if you had 19"s on~ good choice

you will be able to fit the 19's provided their offset is around +45

this was my old type S on 19 x 8 with a +45 offset:

This may not work.

In terms of size fitment for your car and others, general rule of thumb is + 2 size’s up and +2 size’s across.

Of course always keeping in mind the offset. Make sure it clears the brakes and doesn’t rub on the guards.

(example 16’s stock on your car the max I’d go is 18’s that’s +2 size’s up)
(example. 7inch’s width stock on your car the max I’d go is 8inch’s wide)

I believe it’s also got to do with you not adding strain on other parts of your if the sizes are too big.
Remember at the end of the day it’s your choice:thumbsup:
