This morning when I started up the car, I noticed a really weird, loud sound coming from the bonnet. It went away after a minute or so, but later in the afternoon when I started the car up a second time, I was again alarmed by the sound.

It's been a few hours past and that peculiar sound doesn't occur anymore, but I took it by the mechanic and he said if there is a problem, I'd be paying an arm and a leg to get it replaced because he won't attempt to fix it.

 Any ideas?

Nvm.

I overlooked something really quite simple. I took it to Midas for a comprehensive service recently, but I never would have imagined that they'd forget to top up my brake fluid.

It was empty (not leaking). Sad.

Sad isn't it. I'd never take my car to Midas/Ultra Tune etc. I won't even take my car to a Honda dealership.

your accumulator has probably lost its gas so it wont hold pressure.

you can try bleeding the ABS fluid (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32792)
