Hi,

There are plenty different leather (pseudo-leather) offerings on eBay. Does anyone have those in Euro STD? How does it feel and who did you buy it from?

yeah. i saw on ebay too. i thinking to get one. my dad-in-law has those kind of leather seat cover on his toyota. Not too bad. it's a bit softer than real leather. Dont know it will last longer. but you pay what you get.

Coz leather trim cost you around $2k. too much.

Theres another thread on this. Theres a like to a ebay guy in OZ who does complete reskins in fake leather. Looks the goods for $495 but he failed to respond to my question about the side airbag. Pity.

Better off getting a good motor trimmer to either put real leather in(cost approx.$1200,or more for full leather)or higher grade fabric trim.

Is the airbag in the seat? If so can we even cover them at all?
Also that $375 one is just for the front seats.

Yes there are side airbags in the seats. We cant cover them for safety reason. But have to ask seller that they can make special covers for airbags.

anyone has idea whether the size of euro seat n vti model are same or not? I plan to get a seat cover from overseas but they only make for non euro model. thx.

You'll need to do the door trims as well.The only place i know is at Caringbah.Doyles its called.They do a lot of leather installs in new cars for dealers.I've seen their work,it's good.:thumbsup:

and i HATE the beige interior, i'd like to get it all recovered in black =P

i think the 03-05 models black euros only came with beige interior..

but the current black ones come with an option of either black or beige.

can't we just order the seat covers then un-do the side stitch and get an aprroved airbag stitch woven in from a registred company???

im keen on getting a set as they shouldnt look that bad, its just the same "airbag" reason why i havent bought a set


or maybe use velcro around the 30-40cm bit where the airbag pops out from?

just got an email back from the dude, he said it'l take 4-6weeks to make them and it wont affect the airbag going off,,, also he said he's sold a few for the euro-----------so i might get a set but 4-6weeks damn



but i would still like to see them on a euro before i buy just incase they look too budget

The guy just got back to me. He said it doesn't stick on and can be removed. Looks good. Its ok with the side airbag he said.

Can the seller confirm that the stitch will burst open when the side airbag is deployed?

I dont think Im going to get much more than that. I think we have to assume a bit of risk in trying it.

Ill cut my own opening to be sure, my concern is that the cars ECU will command it not to deploy as there's a blockage. That would be bad. Ands it my real concern.

No, the Euro doesn't sense obstruction of the side airbag. It only senses the lack of weight and/or imbalance on the seat. Your concern SHOULD be whether the airbag can burst through the seams. I am wondering what he means by "compatible".
