So on the old power to weight system I couldn't drive a DC2R on P's but now I'm pretty sure I can.
What I want to know is can I legally modify my engine (what is the definition of engine?) AND if I can't and I still do (hypothetically speaking), will I lose insurance rights?

In regards to your insurance, you should contact them for further information about what you would be covered for. Only an agreement between you and your insurer can cover you.

No...its not simply the contract btw you and the insurance company.
well....what i mean is....if you break the law...insurance company would have the right not to cover your damages if you have any accidents, that is for sure.....
there is an exceptional case...when you told your insurer all the mod you have and they still insure you, they will cover your damages only if your car has been stolen...if you drive your car and injured in an accident...they would have the right not to insure you becasue simply you are not obeying the law in modifying a vehicle.

But..what ppl will normally do is.....take the mods off after you got a accident ....so that you can claim the damages on your car.

yeah, but the thing to worry about is what mods you plan to do. if you take a head on smash and you had a complete turbo conversion done, its gonna be a bit difficult to just yank the whole thing out.
