17" tyres compared to 16" tyres...in regards to pricing are 17"s generallly more expensive? how much more though?

I'm going to buy a set of 17"s soon and they come with low profiles but i dunno what brand etc? any advise/tips anyone can give me? I want good tyres that are too expensive.

one thing maybe take into consideration is to how common the tyres u want r.
such as 16's in a certain profile myt b as expensive as or close to the price of certain profile 17's due to supply and demand
so shop around and talk to ur local tyre supplier
the best advice for good tyres is to talk to people with reguards to brands.myt save u some hard earned cash by helping u to get into some better rubber on ur first set of tyres, not ur 2nd

What budget do you have for the whole package? After buying tyres last week I found width to be a bigger factor in price than diameter.

from my experience, 16" wheels are cheaper compared to 17" BUT 17" tyres are cheaper than 16" because more ppl make 17's than 16's
Just what i have found out, so you win one way but loose the other

hrmm so is anyone able to recommend me a tyre? its pretty much just for everyday driving. no track. also dont want it to be wearing too quickly.

and as for sizes..i dont want it to be scrubbing the guards as im jumping from stock 14" to 17s"

Unless your really serious about the rubber I reckon anything ya get from ya local dealer will be fine.I got a rim/wheel package from Bob Jane $1150.Wheels are Nankangs. They are a soft rubber and they are Great!
