How is the Euro reliability wise?
And anyone had experience with the auto 2.0L?
Any common issues in Euros?

Also, when is the new model coming out? As the new 6 is coming next year, I am assuming the Euro too will be replaced soon?

Euro reliability is good. It has more rattles than mechanical problems.
We only get the 2.4L, no 2.0L. The auto is good. The manual has a problem with the creaky clutch.

New Euro is supposed to be out either 2008 or 2009. Rumour has it that it will have SH-AWD.

my friend who works in honda apparently told me that there will be a turbo diesel version of the euro coming out... apparently power wise its gonna be quite impressive and put the current power output of the euro to shame... said it'll be coming out quite soon......... so yeah, this should be very interesting... :D

The diesel is already out

And not buying it in Oz so it'll be a 2.0L only
Which here, is already about 40K, where as the 2.4 is about 60 something grand.

Unforunately don't want to buy a car that will be old in a year :(
But the choices are limited

Is a Euro an old mans car? I am 24

hehehe to be honest, it does feel a little too mature for me (25).
I like the car, but it needs suspension, intake and exhaust to make it feel a little younger :)

Just lower it and put some 18" rims on, it transforms the car ftw

Your friend lied. :) The Accord i-CTDi turbo diesel has only 104kW.

Maybe he was referring to torque... the 2.2L i-CTDi has 340Nm @ 2000rpm, compared to our 2.4L i-VTEC with 223Nm @ 4500rpm

2.4L has 223Nm of torque. :)

Also, the new TSX is being developed as a LHD platform. If we keep our Accord Euro as the JDM Accord, then the next Euro won't look anything like a TSX (which is due 2009).

Haha my wrong - somehow I typed a 4 instead of a 2... lol

I wish they sold the Acura TL (Type-S) here! 3.5L V6, 213kW, 347Nm. I wonder if they would ever sell something like that here.

Not at the moment because it is LHD only. :(

Yeh not fussed about the design of the TL. Prefer the sharper lines of the CL9.
Reminds me of a Sube Liberty

The front looks exactly like a CL9.

They prolly woudn't sell it anyway cause it'll eat into the Legend sales.

OT: Why is the number plate so Malaysian?

I won't mind the TL but we won't see Acura anytime soon until Honda sales are up substantially...

Those TL's come with the 3.2 V6 too don't they?

Anyway, back to my topic!

The accord seems to be best value for money car here. Mazda 6 (1.8 version) is abou 6 grand more AUD! There is no Camry, (something called an Avensis but its ugly). Mitsubishi's outlander is 2.0 and costs about 55K AUD. Lancer is only a 1.6 and is worth about 27K AUD
A 350Z is abou 140K AUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn... cars get taxed here per cc so big capacity cars are hugely overpriced.
When you go over 3L, ever single cc is taxed at 12AUD
I am allowed a tax exemption however only to the value of 20K AUD max.

RX8 is about 55K, Subaru now being 2.5L are like 100K for an STi, Evo's aren't even imported, IS200 (the IS250 in Oz but this one is a 2L) is more than a 3 series BMW, both at around 68K

So at about 40K, the Euro seems like the only logical choice however it bugs me that it will be replaced soon
Golf GTi, Audi A3 etc are all within the price range too but I would much rather prefer Japanese, and realistically Honda, Mitsubishi or Toyota, maybe even Mazda

3.2L V6 is the old model.

BTW, if you can hold out for 2 years, then wait. Otherwise, go for the Euro.

Need a car...
Thought about buying a second hand S2000, RX8, CLK 200K, C200K, 320Ci, Evo, STi etc
But I am worried about reliability and also I am in Cyprus now where the roads are so crap that you could never use a car with power unless on a highway

I got my Euro when I was 19 and am now 20 aswell. I was always a teg boy and get withdrawels when I see a DC2R WEAPON! but It't not an old mans car. Old people have them but its more the Honda's Sports Sedan.
Get wheels and exhaust lower etc.

I got my 18's today and I love 'em, gets lowered next sat and the exhaust and mugen grill aren't far away either.

Get your Euro, there going for the right dollars.

Better yet buy an S2k if ya can, you wont ever regret that.

He's in Cyprus with crap roads, so the S2k won't be comfy. I'd go for a WRX or EVO then.
